Striker Shortlist

Yesterday proved that we need a clinical striker, and i hope we get an ideal one in January who can find the net.
Here is a list of strikers which could be suitable for us and are supposedly realistic.
Not sure if you would all agree with me.....


Nahki Wells- Currently playing for League 1 side Bradford, 23 years of age and is currently joint 2nd top goalscorer in the league with 12. Has scored 40 goals in 86 appearances for the bantams.


Callum Wilson- Another League 1 player who is playing for financial strugglers Coventry City. Joint 2nd top goalscorer with Nahki. Would be a tough one to sign as he is the playing a massive role in the Coventry survival in League 1. 28 apperances for Coventry with 13 goals to his name. 21 years of age.


Patrick Bamford- Currently on loan at MK Dons from Chelsea. Impressive this season and last season for the Dons. 15 goals in 32 appearances. He is on loan at MK Dons until January but looks unlikely he will stay as Chelsea are looking to send him to a Championship club. Send McEachran back and bring in Bamford i say.


Paddy Madden- Placed on the transfer list by Yeovil. If this is because of a goal drought i dont know but is quite surprising, good goal scoring record. 44 appearences and 22 goals last season which made him the League 1 top goalscorer. Whether he is like this in the championship, Who knows? Madden is 23 years of age.


Leonardo Pavoletti- Currently playing in Serie B in Italy and is the joint top goalscorer. He plays for Varese and is 25 years of age. Fairly reasonable record for goals.


Jonathan Mejía- Jonathan, AKA Jona is Currently on loan at Segunda Division side Real Jaén CF from Granada. 24 years old and can score goals, 2nd top goalscorer in the Segunda Division. 10 goals in 16. Not sure how long his loan spell is with Real Jaén but would be a good addition to the strike force in January.

 

We need one who can stop **** teams scoring 3 against us.

Wells would be my choice, but we won't get him as Bradford will want money for him. We don't do transfer fees.
Bamford seems to have gone off the boil a bit. MK Dons fans are not happy with recent performances, and are upset that their hero Izale McCleod has been farmed out on loan to Northampton.

Kevin Phillips - he'd sort Deeney out and only need 20 minutes each game to make a difference.

Bamford is wanted by three championship clubs according to sky sports.

Emergency loans were introduced by the Football League to allow players to moveoutside of FIFA’s strict transfer windows and therefore help clubs avoid the expense of stockpiling larger squads.
An FA spokesman said: ‘Emergency loans don’t count when calculating the number of clubs a player has played for as he remains under contract to his parent club.’

18YO next January.
Completely unproven at a higher level, of course, but in Africa Cup U17 (7 goals in 4 matches) and FIFA World Cup U17 (2 goals and 2 assists in 2 matches played) he showed that he knows how to score a goal.
Could be worth a try in a more serious tournement like the Championship, rather than going at Udinese "Primavera" team or at Granada B (Spanish third tier) when he arrives next January.
I guess with his CV he should gain the work permit?

 

This lad is decent at our level providing he can stay fit.
