At best though its blind optimism to think Dahlberg staying would in any way improve the goalkeeping setup.
We certainly have mucked up his career. Another highly promising player as many coaches and scouts attested to back to playing in a division which is even worse than the SPL.
I don’t think the level of football matters as much for a goalkeeper’s development. His job is to stop the ball going in - which is the same wherever he plays and comes with the same challenges.

Cost Leicester £12m but that’s an expensive backup when Schmeichel is basically an ever-present and you also have Jakupovic. If someone like him came in, I think it would be with a real eye on him competing to be No.1...no way does he drop down a division to still be back-up.
Yeah, hopefully there's something to it and he comes to properly challenge Foster, which is something he's needed for a while now. Not sure I'd be keen on an creaking Foster and Ward if we were in the Prem, but in the Championship, we don't need someone as good as Schmeichel, if he's as good as he was the last time he was in the Championship with Huddersfield, that's fine by us
Maybe, hard to tell given we ain't seen nothing yet. Reserve keeper is always a really difficult position to recruit for. Someone good enough to call on in the unlikely event of injury, but at the same time happy to probably see no competitive action over the whole season.
Bachmann is not good enough. How have we let a guy who has made a full international appearance go out on loan. It is a mistake to keep Bachmann on at the club
I’m assuming they have another keeper lined up. With Gomes retiring and Dahlberg going on loan, they’d never leave themselves with just two keepers. One more will be coming in for sure.

Well the new fella knows all about Predrag Rajkovic. Serbian international keeper. He had him during his first season at Maccabi. Sold to Reims during the Summer. Played over 200 league games and still only 24.
Surely that was expected? He only joined a couple of days ago and hasn't played a game of any sort since February. He's going to be rusty as hell.
It’s not about cost solely - it’s about ambition. Clubs who are now higher up the echelons would be ahead of us in the queue for sure - Milan have already had a €15m bid turned down. Danny Ward did cost £12.5m but has barely kicked a ball for 2 years and is second, sometimes third, choice at his club. I’m not saying it’s impossible as I’ve seen Championship clubs pull off some coups in the last few years - but I’d be beyond shocked if we would bid that much for a GK (or any position really) and even more shocked if he came.
Maybe when we return to the PL we may snaffled someone. Missed Musso. Rajkovic was one of the top keepers in L1 last season as well.
