in 09/10 31 points would have been enough to stay up, but that is a real outlier. 34 points would have been enough to stay up 5 times (one out of every four season).

This season does look like it will be higher than that, unless a couple of teams go on a bad runs. I expect this is more likely than us reaching 40 points.

He's always offering to fight our fans and insulting our players and calling Deeney a fat ****

He may come here with revenge for the play offs in mind. He’ll try everything to wreck us, even re-sign Lloyd Dyer.

But like all coaches who come this way and find players won’t do what they are instructed, his scheme will fail and contrary to his intentions we will stay up.

You tease! I saw the 'L', then another 'L', then an 'O', a 'Y' and a 'D' and my heart rose especially as the next letter was another 'D'...

Lifelong Leicester fan in peace. Pearson seems an ideal medium-term appointment for you at the moment, but he'll need time to turf out the dead wood and instill his mentality (he is a bit mental) in your squad.

We at Leicester owe a lot to him, from us winning League One at the first attempt, to storming the Championship the year after Deeney Day, to the miraculous great escape before we won the Prem. He was big on his sports science, which speaks volumes to how few long term injuries we've had since he first came in.

If his persona bothers you don't be listening to his post-match interviews, but rest assured he'll have Watford fighting tooth and nail to get results. All the best for the rest of the season

    He'll never fit in.

We love a long term injury.

Hence the decision to sign Welbeck

What an underwhelming appointment. I would be furious with my board. Really is a smack of desperation. Should have gone for a more modern young coach even if it meant going down.
No chance you will stay up regardless who you brought in but now you have this old codger trying to get you back up. Grim times ahead methinks. He won't last anyway is my prediction.

The majority of Leicester fans have endorsed the appointment and that has to speak volumes. Not many fans see ex managers in a positive light.

We have the quality to put a run together if they start working and we get our CBs fit ASAP.

Overall, I would have been happy with him or Big Sam

I'm amazed at how many people think he's boring. When things were even slightly not going to plan his interviews were hilarious.

I don’t think we’ll count a preseason friendly you were invited to play in for losing the FA cup final, presumably.

    Absolutely classic post!

Interestingly I watched that friendly and I thought you played well, but I still don’t think you’ll ever win a proper trophy.

Sheffield United won't be anywhere near the drop zone, they're like us from 2015/16 or Swansea and Norwich after they went up in 2011. And Villa are a massive club with a fair bit of money to spend who will pull out all the stops to make sure they don't go back down. West Ham are a possibility and have been there before but with their resources and manager it would take a monumental ****-up for them to drop.

I haven't discounted Brighton who it seems can only beat relegation candidates and/or those who are about to sack/have sacked their manager, but then that's what the not-so-**** teams do to stay up, and they have beaten them pretty convincingly and not just ground the results out Pulis-style, so they might be OK.

Did like Pearson's raising of his arms aimed at the sporofic rookery as he walked round the pitch before the game, realises that the crowd need to play their part , sadly not sure our fan base as vociferous as those from the king power
