After approximately 7 Years of being together, 160 + Games, Endless Sleepless nights before big games and approx 159 visits to the Doghouse on the grounds of "Your Football has spoilt my weekend" I come back to my beautiful Lady to be greeted with "It's only a game"!!.

Such experience of dealing with an emotional wreck over these years should surely not be producing the same response I received after returning home following my first Waford defeat all them years ago? Surely?

I still yearn for a flicker of excitement but its not going to happen is it!

p.s - Is it possible to see how many users are online at one time, I apologise if I have missed something obvious !!

The old "it's only a game" chestnut, if only that were true!

Must own up to weeping all the way home back in the 70's when I was 14 and we had lost 3-2 at home to Walsall, a game we needed to win to stay up but were relegated to he old div 4. But had that not happened, we may never have got GT as manager and had a run of 12 year+ of great success. So a step backward is not always a disaster, just painful at the time.

I remember being in bits as a young lad when we drew the 2nd leg of a play off game against Blackburn (old 1st div), I think it was 0-0 at their place and then 1-1 at the Vic and we went out on the away goal!

Can't remember the year, but I remember the pain!!

That's more of a long drawn out torturous pain that never eases!...apart from short bursts of relief (usually 30 mins at a time when loved one is watching Eastenders and Coronation Street!) :)

Glad mine burgered off with the driving instructor over 10 years ago. meant I had money for booze, gambling and holidays again. I call that bonus years:)

Like in Lord of the rings - life goes pear shaped when you have that wedding band :)
