I was referring to Mirel Wanger of course ... not to Morse's man ... hadn't drunk that much ... alcohol aside, I'd say Deeney would actually make a good coach/ manager ...

When people say Gino will have someone lined up (and they say it a lot) how do they really know?
Are they privy to the inner workings of the club? Or are they just repeating what is often said on the forum? I suspect it's the latter.

Whatsmore how does having someone lined up really work? Are they on a retainer? Have they been made an offer they cant refuse? Are they locked up in a cupboard somewhere at London Colney?
What i mean is how long are they likely to be lined up before they take another job elsewhere.

Based on how quickly previous managers have been replaced, I think.

Club has also said (believe it was Duxbury) in interviews that they maintain a list at all times in the interests of continuity. I believe SD has also said (paraphrasing) that managers tend to either get poached or removed from their position fairly quickly in the modern game, so you always need to be prepared as a result.

    Elton has nice tunes.

Knows the set up, already has a chant &, unusually for a managerial candidate, already has a stand named after him.

If the stuff about his knee is true it appears that he's already been in charge of things here for a while. Hasn't done us much good.

    1. That fan account has taken the story from The Daily Mail.

    2. Sacking Gracia - whilst it looks inevitable, it will also be another way for Gino to paper over the complete inability to of the club to scout and identify better standard of defender. I really suspect that any new manager will end up in the same scenario in a years time. If Gracia is sacked, I’d suggest Giraldi shouldn’t be far behind. The issues are deeper than just the manager.

    3. I remember when Everton came calling for Silva. Yes we turned them down - but some on here were adamant it was disrespectful to go after a manager who is under contract, especially so early in the season. Be interesting to see if those same people say the same if we do it...to Getafe for example.

If we get rid of Gracia - Tedesco has got to be the man, Italian too.

Although I agree Giraldi should be the first man out the door. Javi to go purely as he's the wrong man for this heap of **** we have - he's a good coach.

To your point 3, I'd say it's not disrespectful to approach a club about their manager at all. But if they are refused, then it should stop at that point. If a club persists over it to the point of having to issue a cease and desist order, then yes, that's bloody disrespectful.

Don't think it did. The tweet was a lot earlier than the Daily Mail story and the latter didn't mention the Getafe guy. I suspect they've just made it up.

Were people upset because it was early in the season, or because it was something like 9 games into his tenure as manager? In fairness, it may have been a combination of both.
