The sad thing about this is at that precise moment his future stellar career with Chelsea and England flashed before his eyes. Trophies, individual awards and adulation everywhere.

Little did he know that 6 years later his career would be finished.

So despite him reportedly missing in action he turns up on the bench last night

Is he going to play a part in our run in, lets hope he is back to more like his old form.

If he is it will be like having a new quality signing

Well yes, but that was because Cleverley, Quina, Pereyra were all injured. The fact he didn't come on even when the three central midfielders had run themselves into the ground as part of the 10 man effort shows how far down the pecking order he really is.

The day before the game he posted an Instagram story with his leg in some sort of big rehab boot.

    He's obviously still f**ked!

Very surprised but really pleased to see him make it onto the pitch on Saturday. Hopefully he can get some minutes under his belt tonight as well. I can't help thinking what he really needs is a proper crunching tackle to show himself that he's ok. It must be a mental hurdle as much as physical

Was he wearing the rehab boot ? If so, did it affect his mobility ?

Clearly this season is a write off, with a full pre-season under his belt, I expect him to be back next season particularly if Doucs goes.

Excellent that Javi got him on on Saturday.

Hasn't had a good season anywhere since he was a 17 year old with us in 2012/13.

Noticed he wasn't on the bench on Saturday - Cleverley replace him.

Is that a sign of things to come for Chalobah?

You have to wonder if he is not going to fully recover and get back to the player he was before the injury?

From what I have seen of him recently, I don't think it is so much his physical condition that has not fully recovered, it looks more like his mental condition to me. IMO he quite often seems hesitant going into tackles and sometimes seems to even shy away from them.

Is it just my imagination or do any of you agree?

Hopefully though with a good pre-season under his belt he might get back his Mo-Jo. Then he can step into the Doucoure role should he leaves us, otherwise I think we might have to consider off loading him, possibly as early as January

He's got up until the end of the first half of the first match of the new season to prove himself to me. If he's still bottling tackles and not getting stuck in I'm going to boo the living daylights out of him until he leaves the club.

    I will accept no excuses.

Hope he comes good again, we'll need him when Doucoure 'gets injured' in December/January which has nothing to do with trying to get a move to Spurs or United.

That's a lot more common than you think - at least it is in Australia. I've dislocated both elbows and my right shoulder at varying times whilst playing - and although I didn't pop them back in myself, I carried on playing after they were popped in. It's probably more common there because of the grounds - generally rock hard and dry.

I've also dislocated every finger on my right hand multiple times playing basketball - after going to hospital the first two times and calling out my GP, he showed me how to do it myself.

There was a big burly chap named Cliff who dislocated his knee at Bisham Abbey on a coaching course years back.
The rest of us thought he was larking around ( this was pre Zaha etc) until we realised Cliff was not the sort of man to smile, let alone lark.
He was in agony and was down on the court for an age,the ambulance couldn't get through the doors to the indoor courts,a bit of a shambles given it was then the national sports centre.
Eventually they got to him and by then the pain had eased as he was doped up on nurofen or something. This changed when they moved him into the ambulance and he was in agony again!
    I never saw him again.

Of those involved in their games in Austria against Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen, most emerged unscathed, with minor problems only affecting Nathaniel Chalobah and Isaac Success.

“Chalobah has a little problem and we’ll see when we come back,” said Gracia.

“I think he has to do some tests but I trust he will come back quickly."

I have dislocated my knee and it was ******* agony and I certainly never thought about popping it back in! Unfortunately the ambulanceman popped it back in and broke my kneecap in the process. I also tore all the tendons off the knee so couldn't bend it or straighten it! Like to see him play on after that!

Tis nothing but a flesh wound....
Someone I knew at school cut his knee badly on glass while playing footy. His mum though she could still see some glass in his knee and tried to pull it out. T'was his kneecap.....

Why? If he (and I admit that’s a big if) gets 100% fit, he’s a different type of CM but he’s certainly capable.

The reality is we won’t immediately (or ever) find a CM who gives us the same that Doucoure offers. We will need to adapt slightly.

His point is the IF is a bloody big whopping IF. Even IF he gets 100% fit he's barely played for the last 2 years....we can't reply on him to be good enough and fit enough to be a first team regular starting next month.

Yes but the post I was replying to was basically writing him off as being capable and the answer is that no one knows.

No he was saying that we can't rely on him as a response to the fact he's picked up another injury. That's not writing him off as being capable. We just don't know if/when he will be available.
