Come on. I know some of you are watching it or have glanced at it. The other half is probably chatting about it at work at least.

    Highlights so far for me:

The girl who thinks Brexit means they will cut down all the trees in the U.K.????

Eyal (sic) from Bushey, being basically the **** from The TV program “Cuckoo”
Gap year, I’ve been to Thailand and I am spiritual and believe in energy and auras.

Never watched the thing before but somehow found myself watching it this series. One thing that struck me is how old some young people look. Wes (the one knocking about with the older bird) is 20 FFS.

Tuned in to see what all the fuss was about. I think my IQ was dragged down 20 points! Switched off after a few minutes...

Watched the first 2 episodes with my 16yo who explained it in full as it was happening in an effort to understand what the f*** was going on. Still no d*mn idea. Not watched anymore.

One thing I discovered I liked was heels and bikinis, works for me.

Wife is watching it. I have a semblance of what's going on.

Agreed Dyer's daughter is ok until she actually opens her mouth.

Eyal is an imbecile. Local idiot. Pretty much sums up the type of arse that frequents Watford high Street on a Friday and Saturday night nowadays and why I mostly avoid the town centre of an evening.

Ha! I think I might be the only one who likes that Eyal character! Plus the girl he was partnered with looks like an absolute nightmare. First episode when she actually asked what 'superficial' meant! GOODNIGHT.

I love the assertion that Eyal is deep by most of the others, he really isn’t you idiots, he’s possibly got a couple of points more on the IQ scale but waffling on for ages reciting cliche after cliche does not make you deep.

I have finally caved in and allowed my 14 year old to watch this for the first time this year, against my better instincts. I still think she is too young but most of her peers were watching it last year and all her friends are watching it this time around. Every evening, before she watches it, I give her the same lecture about how this shouldn't be the benchmark on how to behave/how to treat relationships/how you think you should look/how downright dumb you should be etc etc. I have a pretty high tolerance for crap tv - "Made In Chelsea" is my guilty pleasure - but even I draw the line at Love Island and my daughter is banished to another room to watch it.

I was expecting much worse I have to say. this is the first time Ive watched out of curiosity.
Far more sex and bad behaviour on Geordie Shore I think. This is certainly no worse than Big Brother.

Well I gave up on Big Brother a few years back too. And Made In Chelsea is my limit - never watched Geordie Shore.

    Good grief.

I think we need @I Blame Bassett over here to rescue this forum from intellectual stupor with some of her classical references.

I liked that long haired chap in MiC who kept an eagle. His friend phoned him and he said "I'm with my bird". The camera panned to his raptor on his arm!
How about: "Beware, all thieves and imitators of other people's labour and talents, laying your audacious hands upon our work".
    Albrect Durer 1511.
Or ten past 3 in old money!
I will leave you with Socrates, not the footballer and " Ignorance is the greatest evil". I've never watched this programme but suspect it to be true in this case!

People are moaning about forum jokes yet nobody is doing anything about the fact there is a thread about Love Island?

I watch it and seeth, regularly reminding my other half that this counts as quality time together so I can ignore her during the World Cup.

Most of the women are appallingly skinny, especially the blonde ones.

**** it, I’m just going to say it. I really like love island. I pretend i don’t, I take the piss out of her for watching it, I moan about it to people when it’s on but actually i really enjoy it.

It’s trashy and the people are all ****heads. It’s a bit like eating sweets by the handful, or letting the dog sleep on the bed when the girlfriend is away, or sitting bollock naked on the sofa. It’s gross but who cares. The joke is on the people on the show at all times. They’re unpleasant, their lives are generally pretty desperate and miserable and I like laughing at them.

Surely the desperate part of all this is that the people who appear on these programmes go on to make lots of dosh afterwards because, in so many other people’s eyes, they have become ‘stars’.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. The producers are wind-up merchants who just like to stir things on the show (it won't be long until they read out private conversations in one of the 'games'), combine that with the sarcastic voice-over guy and it's great binge-watching tv.

There was a bloke on their last year who's nickname was Muggy Mike, I think it's a play on that.

The doctor seems the only decent one on there as a person, the rest are vacuous chronic imbeciles but they make a great watch.

Last nights reminded me of prisoners dilemma.
Especially Megan's choice now over Alex or the odious trustafarian Eyal (stuipid name - stupid guy)

The game is iterative prisoners dilemma for a prize of £50000. So what do you do? Go for the model who will likely dump you if something better turns up or the less attractive guy who will stay with you til the end, giving you a win-win. You can see the cogs in her mind turning. Tonight's recoupling is a must watch
