    Well it is twofold. There's that alleged tapping up by Everton but there's also the alleged compensation claim by Sliver which has everything to do with a potential breach of contract.

    Your future summisation May be accurate but I wouldn't bet against Gino/Dux drawing this out longer and holding them to account.

    They did though. Southampton lodged a complaint, Liverpool said sorry and Southampton withdrew it.

    If you read Everton’s forum (and skim over 90% of the utter drivel and read the few posts that actually seem informative), then there’s rumblings that all is not well at board room level there, with Kenwright and Moshiri on different wavelengths. Not beyond the realms of thinking that Kenwright was honest when he made that assurance over Silva to us, but now Moshiri is just bulldozering through everything to get his man regardless of legal implications.

    Kenwright has always seemed quite low key. I doubt he'd have wanted the club to get involved in all of this, and you're probably right in saying he's the one that told us its settled.

    Moshiri is just Bassini with extra money. Everton are only heading in one direction

    We are doing exactly the right thing here. We have to take a stand against the way Everton and Snake thought they could behave and bully us into letting him leave. The Panarama investigation into Moshiri seemed to uncover that he has a very murky background in terms of how he financed the purchase for his share in Everton.
    I also think our stand is needed so that they know that they can’t do the same with Richarlison (I think Doucs wants to go to a bigger club) or any other player and Gino & Scott will know that they are protecting our assets.

    I think it is especially this.

    The Poz Poz want us to be seen as a big club, they want us to be the also-rans of the top six and in Europe. Staying up has never been enough, but as yet their ambition hasn't been met with success - partially because our managing and playing staff down tools after six months (one month in Richarlison and Silva's case) of good performances and assume they can just move on when they want.

    We've turned down huge money for our players in recent years, and £12m for our manager. Now we appear to have laid a trap for Everton to walk into that sticks it to both the club and the snake.

    The clear message is - assuming that this works in our favour of course - that we are not small fry, and it is a mistake to treat us as such. Ergo, when new players buy into the ethos of the club and manager, they will be certain that there won't be a fire sale of their best teammates, and that their manager doesn't have half an eye on the door.

    I don’t know what I want most:
    1.) Everton to pay us hefty compensation and damages along with a statement apologising for their behaviour and then appointing Silva.
    Or, 2.) The whole saga scaring them off him and he misses out on the job and possibly any job in the PL.

    Either way, his reputation is gonna take a battering from this you’d expect. His behaviour will now hopefully all come out in the wash.

    It’s gonna be messy. It won’t look good on their behalf whatever happens. Whether they appoint him or not doesn’t seem to be the issue here anymore.
