    If we're signing some young, cheap players with potential in addition to Prem-qualitly replacements for Caps/Doucs etc then fair enough. If we're signing some young cheap players with potential AND THAT'S IT, we're screwed. Hopefully it's the former & we're just snapping up a few talented youngsters early on.

    Agreed. I just think that our priority should be improving the 1st 11. It's fine to sign some young potential but to me it smacks of typical Gino wheeling and dealing. Our first 11 is woefully inadequate, so signing more u23s who can go on loan and profit Gino doesn't excite me.

    Two of the top young players in Scotland for under £5m is far better than signing any young player in England's top division for £20m. As long as they aren't strikers (Henrik Larsson aside) the Scottish market has produced excellent PL players.

    Sounds a bit like Cleverley. Lots of running, can play the simple pass but doesn't really create or score. If we press high, it sounds like he will win the ball back in the final third and distribute to Sarr which would be just fine.

    Cleverly has scored 7 and has 8 assists since 2017, and Ferguson has scored 16 since 2018 with 22 assists, not sure about the comparison myself, particularly as I don't see Cleverly as someone who can hold on to possession and make simple passes.

    I saw some on a river tour in Goa. The massive crocodiles was the main highlight though.

    I say this on almost every transfer thread, but I do enjoy people writing off a player they've never seen play. I've never seen this guy play and i'd never heard of him before we were interested in him, therefore I have no opinion on whether or not this would be a good signing.

    Cleverley has 4 open play goals, 2 assists.

    I wouldn't mind a younger cleverley, but I can't help but feel we need a different profile of midfielder in there.

    Someone who can actually carry the ball and ideally create things.
