    Two big positives imo.

    We won.

We were **** so hopefully even Gino can see we can't rely on many of the players that played tonight as even backups for the championship.

We need to retain a decent amount of the talent we have, and recruit more, if we want to promotion this year.

Before they scored i thought Sieralta was looking powerful and composed, then oroceeded to play hideous clearances for a 20 min spell.

Quina is currently leading the ‘worse pass of the season’ contest for a pass back to throw taker that he scooped 8 ft high and over the line. Needs to retain possession far more, but obviously can beat a man...

perica- couldve scored 4, couldnt hold the ball up, perhaps less effective than Gray was last year in that regard. But, chucking him on when chasing the game will work at some point as won pretty much every header.

Was Chalobah taking his frustrations out at half time, or some real aggro? His long giveaway / poor tackle combo for their goal made me think of England v Brazil in japan, multiple really obvious points to stop the goal and all missed...

Well done Ken. As said before will be my favourite player this season. Great work from Bachman.

Much more worryingly Quina and Chalobah very poor. Unfortunately we are going to struggle to mount a realistic promotion challenge basing the midfield around them. Hopefully Hughes stays and holds it together.

And shout out for J-Sinc. Could he have a role to play?

That, and the opposition players being completely knackered for the last 15 minutes.

Against opponents who are on it he's been sorely lacking so far.

Not naming names because that's poor form but endless comments about Perica, Pozzo, and our chances this season, based on a second string team, with several (genuine) injuries and weeks to go in the transfer window. Bit embarrassing really.

I am sure that is also a contributing factor, although the fact that he is fitter than his opponents can hardly be used against him.

Judging out promotion credentials on the performance in that game is completely pointless.

However, it is absolutely fair to be concerned about the current state of our squad and this team selection was reflective of that.

Nail on the head. I don't know if 'luxury' player is the right word as I think he can be absolutely essential for us this season, but he does need everything set up for him, the right players around him and in the right position, in order to shine. Chalobah on that kind of form isn't going to be of any help to Quina, I like the idea of Ken Sema playing there, but of course that does leave the issue of the left wing-back role

Complains about the supposed bedwetters "gloating", comes on after the game gloating about them being proven wrong (not really, but anyway...) and calling people embarrassing.

Matter of opinion really. I think picking out a few comments, without giving examples or names, that were literally in amongst hundreds of good-natured humerus comments and describing it as ‘toys all over the place’ is a bit misleading really on what was said on the shoutbox...

Bit a minor issue. We can agree to disagree on that.

What exactly is your point? Anyone who feels negatively about the way the game went and/or the lack of depth in our squad has somehow been proven wrong because we just beat Oxford reserves on penalties?

However crap we were; if you can’t enjoy a 90th minute equaliser, followed by winning on penalties, you need to give your head a wobble.

I haven’t seen anyone say they didn’t enjoy it? But it’s quite fair to discuss the overall game right? Line-up, performances, what it might mean going forward, squad depth...all fair game for discussion as much as the equaliser and penalties. Bachmann and Sema are getting praise as much as others are getting criticism are they not?

Because it plays a part in the bigger picture of where the club and where the squad is at? I know it's easy to just go "hahahaha who carez" and pretend there's nothing to take from it but it's really not that simple.

You can guarantee that had we gone and won 5-0 then there would be plenty talking about how it's proven the depth in the squad and that it's proof that we have nothing to worry about.

For those who watched the full game, what do you think the issues were - especially in the first half where I don’t think it’s unfair to say we could have been 4 or 5 goals down.

    Shape? Personnel?

I’m worried that this new formation is going to do more harm than good as it seems to present the opposition with plenty of space.
