100% he would go to Dortmund. Their record of progressing young players at present is great and they play good stuff too. Go there and he could be a £100m in a year or two.
Hopefully he could be involved in the Sarr deal. He'll no doubt give his all to us and really want to be hear. Another could be Moise Kean, who some guy on Twitter said we should look to bring in on loan last night. Sensible moves.
Shaqiri strikes me as the type who will be happy to pick up a wage for doing the bare minimum. He was Stoke’s Pereyra. Could probably have saved them with his talent, but thought himself above it all
Probably generated more goodwill with Stoke fans than Pereyra here, but yes, hopefully he is happy to stay on the Liverpool bench. Where else would he go where he can win titles while barely playing?
No reputable sources from what I can see but a lot of talk in the last hour on twitter that Liverpool are coming in hot for Sarr now.
Thiago to Liverpool story gets announced. Liverpool fans collectively tweet "now to get Sarr done and it's a good window!". Sarr begins trending because of tweets like that. BS rumours accounts like 'indykaila' hop on the bandwagon and post some vague tweet about Liverpool trying to sign him. Happens all the time. Not saying there's no chance he'll leave, but I'll be waiting until something concrete comes out.
Seen figures of £30m up front plus £10m in add-ons bandied around, surely that wouldn't be enough for us to sell him? Unless add-ons means instalments
There's no chance in hell we accept that, unless the add-ons are like £1m per goal up to £10m (i.e. something extremely achievable)
That seems pretty accurate to be fair - doesn't help that i'm in Liverpool so the local trend is all him.
Estupinan? 1 year left on his deal, probably never actually intended to play for us. Suarez? A hot talent, but only done it in the Segunda, seems only clubs abroad with no money are interested in him. As for Sarr, there is no reason for us to sell on the cheap, especially as we've got a bit of money in and are aiming to get more in soon
Probably towards the bottom end of what we'd consider acceptable given he'd had a poor season, clearly wanted to go, isn't young and isn't homegrown
In all seriousness, no idea why people think Estupian was in the last year, other than TransferMrkt/other crappy sites. He was on a two year loan at Osasuna, why would he loan him for the entire remaining length of his contract? Various Ecuadorian/Spanish articles confirmed it was a longer contract AND we didn't mention it in the article listing all the reasons we sold him.
TransferMrkt didn't even list the length of his contract. It just had his loan contract ending next year, which is why I think people are confused.
Anything less than £45m including add ons would be bad business. One decent season for Liverpool and he'll be worth £60-70m.
We won't be getting anything like that. The benchmark was set as soon as we sold one of our prize assets for peanuts. Everyone now knows we're desparate. Liverpool will offer £25m with add-ons to maybe push the price up to £30m+. I'm sure the club would accept that. They'll breakeven on the deal at least. Of course they want as much as they can get, but they won't be getting it from Liverpool.
Doucoure was our 3rd best midfielder last season and had a sh1t attitude. We needed to get rid of him. Sarr is a different proposition. Can't see Gino going under £40m under any circumstances.
Sarr could rip the championship apart. Playing for us until the Xmas trf window would do us and his trf fee/wage the world of good. Makes sense all round.
Prized asset, who Doucs? What did you expect the club to get? Did he have a clause or gentleman's agreement with the club. 20-25m was good business for a player who was nothing more than average last season. Estupinan was in his final year. He also didn't want to be here. Anyone who doesn't want to be here needs to go as Ivic has stated. Deal with it.
Very true. We don't want an Adam Johnson situation in January, mind. (Him leaving mid-season and derailing our promotion push, not being convicted of paedophilia)
A more recent example would be Hull last season, who went from 8th to 24th after losing Bowen and Grosicki on deadline day.
Feels like everyone confuses playing below form with a poor attitude. He just played badly like everyone else but was always available for selection and was a key part of the team.
