Imagine if that was the final.

I think, to some extent, you have to include the number of "eminently clearable clearances" your keeper fails to make as well, particularly if they result in a goal.

note: Ben's howler has not diminished my view of his reputation one iota, and I have absolute faith in him and Gomes should they be chosen to play for Watford.

Great news. He's got his once in a blue moon error out of the way just to be 100% clear for the final.

ps the "blue moon" mention was co-incidence. Could this be a sign ?

Could you sub in a second keeper on 119 minutes for penalties, and the keepers alternate who goes in goal?

Or play 2 keepers from the start and hope the ref does not notice.

    Dahlberg in the middle.

I’d rather have Gomes than De Gea.

I'm hoping Gomes gets the nod against the spammers if he is going to play in the final. Last home game also so will be a good send off.

Perhaps we could play Gomes and then play Foster in their goal?

Best of both worlds; Foster could give us a head start.

Maybe the whole selection could be playground style.

Troy goes first & picks de Bruyne.

    Then Kompany picks Aguero.

At some point, later on in the process, a Watford player is chosen.

If by any chance we get a 1-0 lead to take into the last five minutes both are exemplary time wasters. On the whole Gomes with his I’m an old man and I’ve hurt myself routine just shades it for me.

Given his exuberant disposition, I suspect Gomie may well have a seizure in those circs.

That would be a howler from Troy as De Bruyne is crocked.

He should go Yaya Toure as his first pick, then Summerbee second.

I think maybe Foster... He was my mom yesterday.

Poor old Comes, what a way to finish.

Has been great for us though.

They used to have an even fatter player. Centre back. Irish I think. Maybe 15 years ago. Dunne?

There were several gks where the city line pushed right up and Deeney optimistically hung 20 yards behind them. They all went straight onto a city head just inside their half.

This had been scouted by city as a weakness. A weakness we chose to have.

I think it would have been 4-1. Ben saves two of those and we get a route one goal from one of his better kicks.

The only thing that would have made it worse, would have been if we scored and Gomes celebrated by unveiling a tshirt advocating death penalties for LGBT people or something.

Sadly I think maybe it was a mistake not to play Big Ben, not that I think HG was actually at fault for any of the goals, but I think BF might have least kept the scoreline down to maybe to only 4-0 with a brilliant save or two.

Foster has been in great form recently tbf. Very few costly gaffes in games toward the end of the season.

His distribution in the West Ham game in particular was sensational!
