[RUMOUR] Giovanni Simeone

    Good afternoon all

    My sources have indicated that we have reignited our interest in Giovanni Simeone of Fiorentina. It appears Watford have sent an initial offer, which has been accepted. Simeone appears to be surplus to requirements, with Cagliari recently contacting Fiorentina about him.

    The only sticking point is personal terms and whether Simeone wishes to move to England. According to sources close to the player he is settled in Italy, and there is reluctance to move to a new country.

    I appreciate this has come out of nowhere, but I can only inform you of the basic details which I have heard.

    He is a striker isn't he and pretty young? (Well younger than most of our squad!)

    Doesn't like he is too keen to come though but then nor was Holebas...

    A striker at last, and he does not look too bad according to Wikipedia. Lets hope there is some truth to this and that we are not gazumped by Muff on this one :D

    I'm hearing this one has legs. And also arms. And on the end of the arms he has fingers and he is using those fingers RIGHT NOW to grasp a pen, to sign on the dotted line for the Glory Horns, while Gino waits, poised to slam the window shut with his trademark aplomb.

    Seems a pretty good all-round number 9, quick, hard working, decent touch, albeit he's supposedly not a "natural finisher" and only managed 6 goals in 2460 minutes last season (only 1 per 410 minutes). Caveat to that is that Fiorentina in general did poorly, finishing 17th, and he was supposedly often left isolated up front. At 24 he's still got time to improve his consistency in front of goal though.

    The other major plus is that he's not Deeney. Though I'm not gonna get my hopes up for this actually happening.
