Wait, so he's in Belize, so why would he learn the "local language," which is English?

But I agree, he's an insipid bore who makes amazing landscapes seem dull by his presence.

    Insipid is exactly the word.

What really annoys me is his habit of repeating back what people say to him in a slightly different form and as a question.

So the main reason you don't like him is his habit of repeating back what people say to him in a slightly different form and as a question?

I've just binged this (although I mistakenly had a break from 15h00-16h45 for some reason) and it was marvellous. It's really starting to get the 'feel' of the highly convoluted plots and ambiguous characters of the original Ancient British myths; also the movement to a much darker tone really, really works. It's a shame that there was much less Julian Rhind-Tutt but Mackenzie Crook was wonderful in both his roles and I'm I alone in thinking every time I see Nicolaj Lie Kaas that I'm watching Dominic West? I do hope it gets a third series.

Just watched the final episode and I have to describe it as flawless television: up there with "Rectify", "I Claudius", "The Prisoner", "Homecoming", "The Leftovers" and absolutely anything made by Jonathan Meades.

They made very few allowances for anyone who hadn't read the original graphic novel (nor seen the squid-free film). Just wonderful.

I watched the second series End Of the F**** World on 4-on-demand. It's still very good however I felt that the first series was much better, the second series should have been wrapped up in 7 episodes as the last episode was a little lost in the story telling that really an extra 5 minutes on to the end of episode 7 would have been better.

The film was great, couldn't get into the TV series though. Sounds like they may struggle to have a second season picked up by anyone though?

Just watched the mini series on Netflix, When They See Us. True story and quite harrowing to watch what they went through due to some somewhat questionable interviewing techniques! Only four episodes and well worth a watch

Dunno it's had, pretty much, universal acclaim from critic and from fans of the original comics book - I'm assuming HBO could take the commercial 'hit' of it not making that much money (or whatever that means to organisations such as HBO and Netflix) - how many series of 'True Blood' did they make?

I've just finished all of American Horror Story. Definitely not always the best or most well acted series, but still very enjoyable for the most part.

Mrs D started watching the cats one yesterday and hasn't stopped going on about it today. I need to watch it today so we can go to episode 2 together. Sounds horrific.

If you’re into your podcasts and your true crime there’s a good one called Sword and Scale. It covered the Luca Magnotta case a couple of years ago. Worth going back and listening from the beginning if you’re into really f’d up true crime.

Depends what you’re into! Get the Acast app downloaded on your phone, free of course, and take it from there. Comedy, sport, history, culture, politics.... you name it. I find them great for the gym or long drives.

*I am not sponsored by Acast or any other podcast service

If you might enjoy something silly try ‘The Goes Wrong Show’. This developed from a highly successful stage show where a cast perform a play very badly with numerous mishaps.

On TV they ruin a different genre each week with terrible acting, prop and scenery mishaps.

It’s corny and obvious and yet so brilliantly executed it’s a joy to watch.

The imagination to create some of the "goofs" is great. It's not my type of humour but it's done well.

Murder Trial: The Disappearance of Margaret Fleming

I expect this is on iPlayer. The sad disappearance of a young girl with learning difficulties from Inverkip in Scotland. One of the horrifying aspects is how long it took authorities to investigate why she had not been seen since 1999. Her two carers were put on trial. A right pair of horrors. Watching their body language in police interviews was telling.

Anyone who has been a juror will have seen the defendant's often lose their rag no doubt to the dismay of the defence counsel as in this case. A particularly nasty piece of work Edward Cairney. Filmed outside the court calling the prosecuting counsel a *******. Though circumstantial the weight of evidence could only lead to one verdict. The attempts to explain Margaret's disappearance were laughable especially in view of her childlike nature. Evil always lurks around the corner.
