Wow I said to the other half I’d like Woking away, only 15 minutes from us here in leafy Bagshot and lo and behold for once we get an interesting draw.

First non league team since Ashford I think in about 1996?

Happy with that I hope we take it seriously as I doubt some of the players will never have played such low level opposition on most probably a crap pitch. If we do get done by Woking I won’t be that disappointed as ‘giant killings’ help keep the FA cup magic alive

Cheers, don’t remember that one. I had rather lost interest in those days.

Someone has just said on Twitter just how ‘Watford’ it will be when Deeney and Gray are kept in the pocket of two CB’s who are on minimum wage. Hard to disagree.

Normally this would be sold as a Premier League fancy dans having to go to a tough, non-league ground. Luckily, we can put out an almost totally non-fancy dan XI.

Foster, Mariappa, Cathcart, Wilmot, Britos, Cleverley, Chalobah, Hughes, Sema, Gray, Deeney.

Or we could give Peñaranda his one and only start just for the bants.

It will be 30 years since a non league side beat a top div team (Sutton V Coventry) 3rd round Jan 7th 1989. I can't see that record being broken when the game is played!

Do you mean in the 3rd round only? As Luton beat Norwich in 2013 in the 4th...

Great draw but hope we aren't complacent. Don't play Prodl, Britos and Okaka because "they deserve a run out". They really don't.

Dahlberg spills one into the net in injury time on his full debut as we tumble out of the cup, and find out that Stuparivic is as awful as our other strikers.

    Can’t wait.

Really happy with the draw. A far more interesting tie than playing the likes of palace, forest or chelsea for the 50th time in the last few years. Very tempted to try and get tickets for this one though doubt I will be able to

We havent been a good cup side in recent years and specialise in going out to lower league opposition. Or is that just in the league cup?

I believe the away terrace holds 1800 when segregation is in effect. So a decent-ish chance of a ticket. Better chance than at Bournemouth.

No doubt the witless terd in charge will think this is a good opportunity to start powderpuffs like peneranda and quina.

3-0 to the non league cloggers

    Yeah.. programme here https://oldwatford.com/1996/12/

I think the last time we played a non league club away from home was the infamous defeat at Northwich Victoria in 1977.

Great draw. Better than getting a big side.

I reckon we might be on the Beeb too!

1-0 Woking it is then. Talked about in working men’s clubs around them parts for years to come.

Good draw. Might even go to that one. Over the years I don't think there have been many non-league cup ties since I've been watching Watford. The only ones I can remember watching was that epic Harlow 4-3 win, Maidstone United and Ashford Town.

We did play Luton twice in the eighties in the FA Cup...does that count as a non-league tie?

And Lincoln beat Burnley last season..

Sean Dyche was quite bitter about it afterwards at a TFTV event as they managed to rile up Joey Barton.

I remember that Ashford game - it was 0-0 at half time - we won as stated above 5-0 in the end.
