Apparently JJ O'Toole often turns up for matches at Northampton with his kit in a plastic bag. Fair play to him.

    Quality. He's a proper old-school 70's throwback footballer

But Ighalo aside the other two are nailed on starters and are playing rubbish. So no defence for Mazzarri as he should have the balls to leave them out.

I mostly watch our games on Sky Match Choice these days, so I had not seen yesterdays game when I wrote the above, therefore from what I could gleen from skys extended highlights of the game, I would like to say that IMO Capoue actually did not have a bad game against Boro.

Others have said that Capoue needed a kick up the arse and some competition, well with the signing of Cleverley and the emergence of Ducoure, perhaps he now has that competition and on yesterdays display maybe it has worked.

Having said that, he should not have needed that sort of thing for him to put in a decent shift, so my original assessment him is still most prevelant in my mind, but if he can continue to show the sort of enthusiasm he showed yesterday, though I have my doubts that he will, he could yet justify his worth to our club in my eyes. Though my gut feeling is still to sell him on, that is if we can find a club willing to pay reasonable money for him.

This. Didn't shy from the ball, was guilty of repeatedly cutting in onto his right though. There were several instances where he was in acres of space calling for a CB to play a simple ball but they hoofed it instead.

Britos passed to a Boro player 13 times yesterday, wretched distribution.

None of our CBs with the possible exception of Kabs can pass under pressure. It's a problem. The fashionable high press is finding out a lot of CBs this season, not just ours.

Not sure. I think he isn't a box to box player but he's half decent in both ends. Very skillful and id like to think he could be coahced into a great midfielder, by the rught manager in the right team.

Agreed but after this amount of time in England and 3 or 4 managers you have to wonder if the problem is with the player.

Perhaps he is a very young 27 year old and will mature later but time doesn't stand still.

So very nearly a very good player.

Capoue is one of those unfortunate players that always look like he's not trying, even when he is. As a result it's impossible to know when he is & when he isn't. I bet even Wally doesn't know.

JB never ever looked like he was putting in a shift but he was so good nobody cared. Capoue isn't.

What is the point of Capoue?
We'd be far better without him. The reason I have given up on Wally is because he picks this useless **** every game.
Has anyone ever seen Capoue head the ball?
Has anyone ever seen Capoue do a decent tackle?
When was the last time Capoue made a telling pass?
When has Capoue ever bossed a game?
He brings nothing to the table

Hard to criticise the midfield 3 tbf when the ball keeps being hoofed over their heads

Was he cheered when subbed on Saturday or was the cheer for the fact an actual sub was made?

What has this guy got to do to be dropped? Kill someone?

Wasn't dropped under QSF and seemingly never getting dropped under Walter.

Either I don't know what I'm talking about or there is a clause in his contract because for the life of me I can't see how he keeps starting games.

Thought there was a chink of light when Wally said pre-game he was ill. But no, there he was again lumbering around adding very little obvious to our play.

I've never seen a player care less on the pitch. A joke of a player.

    Waste of talent.

I only hope he reflects on his career in the future and thinks "I messed up,can I try again".

It all started to go south when we started to sing that generic tosh of the Ozil/Ali/anyplayer that scans song.

I've said what I think of this useless piece of ****. The reason we get over run in the midfield is purely down to him. He's bone idle and disinterested. I was praying and hoping before today's game he wasn't going to play, unfortunately, he turned up and did **** all as normal

Decoure, whilst not brilliant is a far better player than Capoue IMO, and should play in his place.

    We've got Capoue, Etienne Capoue,
I just don't think you understand,
He'll play every game, even though he's lame,
    We've got Etienne Capoue.

Scandalously bad performance today from one of the most frustrating players of recent years.

I swear I saw an interview where he admitted that he just sees football as a job and doesn't love it. Certainly shows on the pitch. I'm sick of seeing players run past him in midfield and him constantly losing the ball. It's such a shame because he's so talented, not talented enough to make up for **** application though. ****ing hell start Doucoure against Sunderland. I'll even take Stewart or ****ing Zuniga starting ahead of him!

It was in the official programme I think.

Suspect there are more footballers feeling like that too...hence maybe some not appearing to give as much as they could to the cause.

Plenty of people don't like their job but manage to do it to the best of their ability.

Etienne rarely does, only he knows why.

These footballers have it tough, doing something you don't really enjoy but still getting paid 50k a week for it. Poor Etienne.

Danny Sh!ttu was the same, didn't like football, hated training and just saw it as a job.
