First chance I've had of getting on here since the match on Saturday and I completely agree.

He was a steal at £5M.

Some of his passing, flicks, drag backs and nutmegs on Saturday were brilliant. Fast turning into one of my top ten Watford players even at this early stage.

Was talking to a Spurs fan prior to the match and he was disappointed that they got rid of him as he felt he was not given a proper chance there.

    Etienne Capoue (Song)

Seeing as 1: Capoue is brilliant and 2: WDSport reveal he's got the chaps playing "Wolf" at the club as a pastime...

    http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2015/11/etienne-capoue-rediscovers-his-joie-de-vivre-at-watford/

How about adapting the Duran Duran song "Hungry Like The Wolf" for him?

    "All over the ground
He's on the hunt, He's after you
Scent and a sound. You're lost and he's found
    And He's Etienne Cap-ooo!"

    Whatever....just indoors awaiting an electrician.....

Great idea, but I can't see a football crowd being able to sing this one en masse :frown:

I agree. Good idea, but a bit too difficult for football. I think we need something simple - like the Deeney chant.

He's fat, he's round, he cost 5 million pound, ca-poo-ay.......ca-poo-ay.

    Offensive with mis-pronunciation.

    Perfect football song.

Right, because it's so much more complicated/lesser known than Gold and the Ighalo adaptation.

Quality suggestion, Whippendell. Hopefully someone can get this to catch on.

How about a bit of classic Elvis - the chorus of The Wonder of You

    And you'll never know,
    How he nutmegged you,
And made you look a fool,
    That's the wonder,
    Of Etienne Capoue

I like them all but I miss Warren Zevon and think we could double up with

' Capooooooooue,Werewolf of Watford' and Warren's comment* for the pitch announcer of 'Enjoy Every Sandwich'

    * When asked his advice for those, like himself, facing terminal cancer.

    Oh Capoue poue poue,
He's just too good to be true
    Oh Capoue poue poue,
You just can't stop him getting through
With his left, with his right,
    What a wonderful sight,
And he came to us first, as he was just too good for Spurs.

    Tune: agadoo

Agree. Cracking open post is not getting enough love. It's a good one yet all the feedback is people chiming in with their own songs without commenting.

great shout by the OP, could catch on if enough people know the tune.

whilst we're at it, Watson would fit into 'Roxanne - The Police' but that would be quite tough

Not Capoue related but caught myself singing this in my head, and I'm an athiest!! Just needs a couple of tweeks and I think it would sound awesome coming from the stands.

He Who Would Valiant Be ....Hymn

He who would valiant be ’gainst all disaster,
Let him in constancy follow the Master.
There’s no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent to be a pilgrim

    Tweeked to

We who would valiant be ’gainst all disaster,
Let us in constancy follow the masters.
There’s no discouragement shall make us once relent
Our first avowed intent to be a Hornet.

Maybe we should keep it really simple:

CAPOOOOOOOoooooooooooo, CAPOOOOOOOoooooooooooo, CAPOOOOOOOOooooooooooo (repeat at will)

(Wolf howl like we used to do for Wolfie the programme seller.

Simple, easy to remember, and the fans will catch on to it immediately.
