The article reads a bit like his club trying to create a bidding war. Won Slovakian player of the year in 2017. Looks promising from the youtube highlights as well. Though if he signs I'd hope he turns out better than our recent signings from Scandinavia. Will most likely end up as yet another seemingly feasible CB signing who could be an upgrade, but for whatever reason we'll end up not bothering with.
How far down our list of CBs have we gone now? Not a judgment, just curious. If we always nailed our top choice, we would be lacking ambition.
Every bid we make will be skinflint. We will ponder all the rejections and go with Marriappa, Cathcart, Wilmott and Kabasele. Prodl will fester in the reserves/treatment table earning his 35k a week.
With VAR coming in, we need to offload Kabasele pronto. All those stupid tackles in the box will not go unnoticed next season.
He really does seem to be just seconds away from conceding a penalty at any given time. Frustrating player because he can be quite good.
Clearly has the right physical and technical abilities. But his spatial awareness, positioning and timing his challenges is highly suspect at times. Unless he becomes more consistent (and soon) we will need to move him on. There is no mercy for defenders with VAR and its interpretation in the box with regard to handball or going to ground.
same old same old Last year we couldn't get any of our CB prospects over the line and so far, from the outside, it seems the same. I know we want value but please offer somewhere in the ballpark otherwise we are wasting our time and getting nowhere.
Can you let the club know that we all feel the same? Pretty sure you can contact them through Sportswitness.
Lets be honest, this guy is an unknown quantity so I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. Even Britos and Prodl came from strong leagues with a bit of reputation behind them. We need genuine quality, not just more ‘quantity’. I’m sure the big boys are sniffing. But I’d still like to see us trigger Kabak’s £13m release clause. It may spark other clubs into action. Or we could potentially steal a march on others.
Considering that according to reports earlier today he's already agreed to sign for Schalke, we wouldn't be stealing a march on anybody. https://www.bavarianfootballworks.c...e-04-ac-milan-manchester-united-port-transfer It's not a surprising move at all. Schalke finished 14th in the Bundesliga last season and that looks about his level right now.
I know it’s unlikely. I don’t say it because I expect it would have happened. But moreover, it’s more the direction I would hope we would be looking to spend. Schalke had a poor season - but they are historically far better than 14th in the Bundesliga. They got out of the group stage of the CL last season for example. I know I’ve said it previously but my wife is from Stuttgart and her family still reside there. I saw them a few times live in the back part of last season and also on TV - the lad won Young Player of The Season across the whole league - and off the back of just half a season. He is better than what we have, just a bit raw with it. We missed the boat on him as it was widely said in Germany when he joined Stuttgart that he preferred us but we dragged our heels. The only reason I refer back to him is because he is affordable (you’d think) and perhaps showing interest again would show we are keen. But as you say, likely beyond us now.
Nazis and mid range saloon vehicles . That and blokes with silly trousers , which they don’t even have the gumption to put a ferret down . No wonder they lost the war(s).
Going to Rome ? Or could it just be Lazio journalism by Wobby ? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...nsfer-target-denis-vavro-verge-joining-lazio/
Kabak was absolutely terrible for Pool today and was a desperate signing by them, no pace and composure at all - "14th in the Bundesliga" still "looks about his level right now".
