Morgan is one hell of a good batsman, personally I wish they'd given him more of a go in the test team before discarding him. I know different skills are required but good players are adaptable.

    That didn't go to plan!

I remember Pakistan won the T20 title when it was played here so maybe they just like the conditions..

India-Pakistan final would be fun though and the ICC would no doubt welcome the TV income.

If it wasn't for the slow over rate, may have taken the record. Well played the middle order

Reminds me of a story I read once, a referee asked Richard Johnson why our fans were booing him when he got the ball outside the box.

Broad has 50 now. Two 6's in a row of Morkel. 44 off the last 4 overs for the last wicket

True but I think the position in the order probably suits him. He really is an incredible batsman to watch (and his bowling's not too shabby either). It looks totally effortless. He's Gower but with a big beard.

I reckon he's now getting close to Boycott's famous definition of a true international all-rounder. He'd be worth his place in the side just for his batting AND for just for his bowling.

His batting average is almost bigger than his bowling average which is the test of a great all rounder.

Good to see Broad bat well , could have been an all rounder himself .

    Stokes and Woakes too

We are a good side when in front but when having to fight and save a game we crumble - like the teams in the 90s did!

Last I heard India were 150 isn for 3 with 12 overs remaining.

    That was some turnaround!

    Well played!

Yes - they only needed about 30 from 20 odd balls with 4/5 wickets left!

Only 30 from 20 balls? There's a time in the not too distant past where that would have been considered pretty hard work in the men's game. So how does that translate in the women's game? Your post implies it should be easy?

Well guess it depends if they had the ability to score quickly and the conditions but the game is geared towards fast runs now.

I was thinking this during the match yesterday.

At about 200/4 DL was in India's favour by about 4 runs, but the sky win predictor had us at about 65%.

Didn't seem right, but perhaps that does suggest a lot about the quality of the lower order, for India at least. And that proved right with 2 or 3 wickets tumbling in quick succession.

Even when they needed 11 off 13 with 2 wickets remaining the odds should have been high in their favour you'd have thought.

In the men's game that kind of remaining score with balls left would generally be expected to win.

Great victory. I can't remember if being 30 from 20 though. More like 18 from 20. India persistently stayed ahead of a run a ball but kept losing wickets.

And our women footballers beat Spain 2-0. And Chris Froome won the Tour de France. Good day all round really then ...
