Anyone else disappointed that he hasn't really featured.

I think we all knew his role would be backup and backup only. Good option to have but I'm certainly not disappointed to have not seen much of him - in the nicest possible way.

I imagine he's probably got a bigger role than we see on match days. When he returned, I always figured he'd be a Gilmartin-type signing; Home-Grown, good in the dressing room/around the squad, knows the club well, and my understanding is that he keeps Troy in check, too.

I dont know about that, the club has changed massively between the time he left and came back. Might be a good influence in dressing room though, dont know much about his personality to have an opinion.

Only in the squad because he's home grown and looks happy to pick up a cheque

He's like a life-jacket on an plane. He'll probably never be used but it's good to have him there just in case of an extremely unlikely emergency

...and if we ever did need to used him we're probably feked anyway

As said previously, he's most probably a useful, positive and experienced person to have around the team.

My wife, who's now 34 was gutted when we sold him all those years ago. She fancies the pants off of Mapps, not the Mapps out of Pants though, I hope

Has looking competent on his return and turned out to be a worthy squad member. Was a two or three year deal we signed him on? If the latter a good bit of business by the recruitment team.

Unless he translated perfectly and the message was "pass around the back to bore this lot to sleep then we'll hit them with a set piece."

Made Garth Crook's team of the week, and rightly so. Excellent throughout and certainly not the performance of someone happy to sit about and pick up the pay cheque.

With the game tightly poised at 1-1 you had to display nerves of steel if you were a defender in either of the Swansea or Watford teams. However, it was Adrian Mariappa who showed the sort of courage that wins matches. It was Mariappa's block on Tammy Abraham that won Watford the points. The challenge was so emphatic by the Watford defender I don't think a Chieftain tank could have got past him.

Yes I assume Britos will be back next Saturday and the hopefully Prodl after the international break if not next Saturday, great to know that Mapps is with us if needed, did really well against a poor Swansea side however not too sure about the previous week,

However when all is said and done us supporters shouldn't forget Mapps helped us hang onto the points at Southampton and obtain three at Swansea!

I thought the swansea strikers looked like a real handful. I think lesser teams would have shipped a few goals in that second half. I think we are doing our defence a disservice to say swansea were completely ****.

But yeah, I want him out the side as soon as either of those two are back for sure.

I couldnt stop staring at the way his sweat drenched white shirt was stuck to his six pack. He's a muscular stud if nothing else.

Has come in and not looked at all out of place. Made some vital interceptions and the most of the chances injuries to Prodl and Kaboul have suffered. On current form he cannot be dropped.

None of our CBs are good enough for a team at the sharp end of the prem.

Lot of talk about his passionate celebration after the third goal went in, so I've given it the gif treatment:). Played very well the other night.

Could watch this many, many times. Love the guy, always have, and I'm not sure why there are always people queuing up to tell us he's not good enough. EDIT: Or being surprised when he puts in a good performance...

He doesn't have many bad games.

Was genuinely upset when he got that (mistaken identity?) second yellow vs Middlesbrough that stopped him getting our consecutive appearance record, or something.

All I could see on the link was how the mother of an Arsenal kid lives in a Big Yellow storage unit.

Distressing but who knows what’s behind it?

Edit: it’s emphasised that the storage unit is in Hertfordshire.

I would have thought, in this bleak dysfunctional story, that would be a tiny positive.

10 miles further north would be chilling indeed.
