Interesting that Swansea and West Brom have the same number of points as Norwich and Bournemouth currently have (albeit teams this year have a game in hand, if you know what I mean).

We've Just got to keep chipping away. That season we were 10th with 26 points after 23 games. That would leave us 15th this year

So we need at least a draw from the Brighton game.

It may be depressing but an update after Sunday would be good to see.

I had to do an update after that...

    The current position is:
    • 13 points worse than this time last year (27 vs 40). This is 3 points better than after the last game.
    • 6 points worse than the comparable fixtures last year (27 vs 33). This is 3 points better than after the last game.
    • 2 points worse than the '40 point' line (27 vs 29). This is 2 points better than after the last game.

    Excellent work as usual Sir.

Points in top flight graph sums it up, in the danger zone. More points than relegation seasons but less than any survival season, still in the woods.

As Carlos has said, remarkably close on the 40 point line which is encouraging, sometimes looking at the numbers without the subjective emotion is better, we are close.

Hadn't paid much attention to the Derby line previously, did they really only win 1 game all season? Tough watch that after week 6 (Sept?)

Derby won 1, drew 8, lost 29. Ouch! You would know the true fans by the end of that season!

    Great work.

Matching last seasons return over the next 4 games will be tough.

We have to be safe before the last two games, 50/50 chance at this point.

Whilst its a disappointing, relegation threatened end to the season its useful to consider just where we were more than a third of the way into the season. The lack of spirit as we let the game slide at Southampton was truly awful. Would we better Derby's worst ever Premier League season was the question of the day.

Lots need to change at the club but for now its one game at a time and getting something from Newcastle to further cement 16/17 place.

We can still reach the magic 40 points this season.

And if we do I'll eat my Watford beanie hat.

So is Schrodinger’s cat dead or alive then?

Schrodinger’s cat doesn't exist. Schrodinger just said there was a cat in the box and even if there was one, it belonged to the little girl who lived next door. It wasn't his cat.

Weeeeell! it depends on your belief in symbolism. Gertrude, the little girl who lived next door to Schrodinger, called her cat Mojo but it's real name was Spot. Schrodinger's house was a villa and Schrodinger didn't like the cat because he once found it in his villa ******* on one of his hammers. It was with that hammer that Schrodinger allegedly nailed down the lid of the box that he put the cat in. The man from the RSPCA arrived too late to stop the event so he gave Gertrude a muff to cheer her up because it was cold. The muff was yellow. Gertrude's top was red and black and her skirt was deep red and sky blue. She only had one piece of clothing with those colours. Oh! and the cat's urine was yellow, there was a lot of it and it smelled. Schrodinger couldn't get the smell out of his villa so he moved to Brighton - on a Tuesday.

Simply not good enough after the restart, simple as that - table of 'PL restart':

Norwich only scored one goal after the restart... and it was against us. Should have scored a second too, missing a sitter near the end.
