Could they afford Deulofeu I wonder? Lot of cost-cutting measures ahead at Valencia, think there are other clubs (like AC Milan for example) who are more likely to want to spend about £20m on a player who's still injured
Yes, but it depends on what price Torres leaves for. Reports are saying 40+ so they will have some cash floating around.
Sounds like he's actively seeking a move to Milan......can't think why. https://sempremilan.com/sky-watford...ges-to-milan-through-agent-he-wants-to-return
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs D (well maybe they aren't married..) Seems they have got a new born child.
Official breaking news. Udinese have made the transfer a permanent one. Gutted to see Geri go, but he's still within the Pozzo group, so you never know, he may come back Official: Deulofeu Departs - Watford FC
The only chink of light I can see from this is that it must give us some funds for one or two deals. We signed Geri for £15m, so I think the sell-on between clubs would be something similar. Even though Geri is still part of the Pozzo set-up, and it's not unthinkable he'd be transferred back at some point, if we do go up we'd need a hell of a rebuild to stay up. Udinese have confirmed he's singed a 3.5 year deal, ending on 30th June 2024.
Pussetto is actually still our player. We signed him for £7m, but decided to loan him to Udinese and now he's done his ACL and will be out for some time. So clearly we couldn't sell him in this window, although I suggest we should have done that in the summer window. He didn't want to play for Watford and didn't settle in England. Strange we never sold him back in the summer window.
Indeed. If they shuffled £7m (!) from our balance sheet to Udinese for Pussetto before taking him back on loan you’d like to think they’ve sent double that the other way for Delefeou to help with our financial woes.
There should now be some decent funds from this sale in the WFC accounts, which hopefully means we are going to splash out on someone, preferably a striker, I quite like the idea of Jephcott at Plymouth.
