Yes, ditching managers willy nilly, making inexplicable decisions at board level, and failing to adequately reinforce a squad desperately in need of it? A terrifying thought; no club's fans could be content with an ownership group operating in that manner. They should have been careful what they wished for.
Dennis scores the goal with the only bit of quality all game. Bayo gets into that same position, ball goes over the bar or near the corner flag. Rajovic gets into that same position, loses control and it rolls out for a goal kick. Harsh maybe, but it sums up our striker situation. Dennis probably won't be here next season especially with the extra financial squeeze with no more parachute payments. Is it time to roll Mogi Bayat's tombola of crap again in the Summer?
Fantastic pressing though, and a good finish, it was no tap-in by any means. You can criticise his overall play since he's been back, but he's definitely been putting the effort in
I like the description of tombola of crap. ironically wasn't Dennis a Bayat punter in the first place? There's no doubt some shenanigans in the Bayat connection, and I would rather we did not have the connection, but occasionally we've profited from it.
Press to catch the defender out - admittedly from his own error, before lifting it over the keeper? This is quite some stance you seem to have on Dennis!
Proper 4D chess from Dennis to harmlessly pass the ball out of play, only to press the defender and score!
https://twitter.com/louorns/status/1769620574148440066 I don't know how he compares with Bayo in this regard, I suspect still rather favourably
He did well but if we are labelling that as a quality bit of play then levels are worse than first feared. As for his general performance on Saturday I don’t think anyone thinks he was good, because he really wasn’t. But as someone else pointed out earlier, the press and finish on Saturday is something that wouldn’t come from any of our other strikers. Shame he only did it once and other than that barely touched the ball and when he did, he gave it away or was offside.
Needs a summer transfer out.... He's not good enough. I've been watching better strikers on "Welcome to Wrexham"
Nobody mentioned anything about overall performance being good, or what was required, just that moment in particular. He worked to get the ball back, which I thought you’d appreciate - and then scored a 1 v 1 which we haven’t exactly been blessed with, by lifting it over the keeper. It was a very rare moment of a quality finish in a poor game, that as agreed wouldn’t have come from our other strikers. Nothing wrong with saying that.
It seems losing to us has forced another shake-up at Birmingham. Gary Rowett going there until the end of the season. I never thought about it on Saturday but the match was unusual in that both sides had interim managers. I wonder when this last happened in a game we were involved in?
After Neil Warnock, Ian Holloway, Alan Pardew, Tony Pulis, Tony Adams, Garry Monk and Graeme Souness all get sacked.
Ian Holloway actually resigned when he realised the wonderkids from Udinese tap had been turned off long ago
