Arguably you could say his return to Middlesborough was part of the reason our season derailed. Also Marlon King first came in as a loan although we bought him in the January of the 05/06 season, we had him after his first conviction I think.
I agree Adam Johnson was very good for us and made a difference, we also had a chap called Gerald Deulofeu on loan in 2018 before signing for us permanently who wasn’t bad either!
Exactly why I mentioned him. Goalkeeper cover for one game and that was it. Not a disastrous or bad loan but easily the most pointless and obscure as Arlauskis was injured for one game.
Sietes played in a pre-season friendly. I don't remember whether he lasted the full 90 minutes, probably not.
As was Liam 'the crab' Bridcutt - yet another useless loanee though he did go on to have a reasonably decent career afterwards I think
In Bridcutt's first match for Watford he was trotting over to Brenda to receive instructions at every break in play, as if he was the skipper and not just a fellow new boy. Very annoying.
Josh McEachran was another who'd had smoke blown up his arse by Chelsea fans and all he ever did was play easy sideways passes.
Alan McCarthy. Roeder got him on-loan from QPR. A complete non-entity and gave away a needless handball for a penalty against L***n which led to them equalising late on in the game. What a twaaat.
Cleverley was fantastic when he came on loan. A completely different player style wise compared to the one we had permanently.
Definitely not the worst, but Hector Bellerin was incredibly average given about 8 months later he turned into Arsenal's starting RB.
Briggs Townsend There are others such as the guy that got sent off on his debut and never played again, or has my memory played tricks on me? Those 2 are far and above the worst. Interestingly I saw that docu a couple of years ago on Briggs which was both sad and Interesting.
