Pretty sure most people were against Manaj, Murray and Perica and my memory doesn't go back as far as Geijo + Acuna.

I remember being ambivalent towards Manaj, Murray and Perica, thought Acuña would be mint and had no ******* clue who Geijo was!

I thought Perica would have done better than he did and did defend him more than others. Otherwise yeah, very few thought those signings were a good idea at the time.

So is Healey taking over Kalu's spot at the OAP home ?

He is fit but just not selected as Ismael just prefers 2 target men .

I'm not convinced, even if he was fit and not fancied, surely he would've been better option for the bench last night rather than leaving a free slot?

Did we not have a full bench last night?

That's odd from VI. We signed him not to play ? He has a good goal scoring record too. Surely he can be tried in tandem with Rajovic ? Rather disappointed he has not had a chance.

I think he'd work really well with either Raj or Bayo.

We don't even play that many long balls, and play low crosses just as much as we do high crosses.

Agree but just hasn’t had a chance .

They have been saying he isn’t confident about the knee injury previously but then maybe we should have thought about that before signing Healey ?!

We'll start playing him in February, he'll score a few goals and we'll wonder why it took so long then he'll have a season/career ending knee injury.

Pretty clear Ismael doesn't want to use him. You get the feeling that Healey was going to be signed this summer no matter who the head coach was. Once Pozzo wants a player he'll happily wait until they're on a free and get them, no matter how **** they are (Ashley Fletcher).

VI is missing a trick here. I’ve manually completed all Watfords transfers on fifa 23 and started playing the season with a 433 formation and Rajovic upfront. I had a terrible start to the season including a 7-1 defeat to Leeds .

Then I switched to a 451 with Healey upfront . After 16 games Watford are in 5th place and Healey is championship top scorer with 21 goals.this is clearly how we should be playing . Ken Sema is also full of pace and trickery and Bayo is a bit of a super sub !

The non usage of him as a sub given our terrible options is bizarre. Must be a complete dud in training, or he hasn’t recovered from the long term injury and club are too embarrassed to admit more burning of our cash.

It is very odd that he can’t make the match day squad. I had high hopes he was going to be a really good signing and regular goalscorer.

Yes me too. I know he had the bad injury last season but the ray of hope was that he was playing again (and scoring) right at the end of the campaign.

Plus, it has to be said, his cameo at Stevenage wasn't exactly standout bad. He forced a decent save from their keeper with a header and then missed his pen in the shootout.

Same, he's a great option for this level and I think could suit our playstyle well. Would love to know what's happening.

Doucoure was frozen out of our team for a few months after a fleeting appearance and look what's happened to him, its a strange old game!

We can be sure of one thing .

Definitely wasn’t an Ismael signing like the others have been generally.

Was there any particular reason Doucoure was frozen out? At least with Healey I sort of get it, he's not as physical a presence as the other two (even if he's probably better based on his track record), but from this vantage point it looks crazy that Doucs couldn't get into the side

No idea re Doucoure, also frozen out for quite a few months was Louza after a pretty disastrous debut away to Brighton!

This was only a week ago, calf injury probably 2-3 weeks which lines up with when he disappeared from matchday squads right? Given his two major injuries of the past, you’d hope it’s just genuine care around a fragile player rather than anything person.
