Looks like the keeper might have got a slight touch on it? Either way it doesn't look like he was expecting the ball to reach him and he should have been ready.

If he'd just kept moving forward at the same speed and never picked up his leg at all, it probably would have bounced off him and in somehow. To contrive to miss to that extent from there is almost beyond the bounds of reality.

Reminds me of Hughes’ miss at 1-1 vs Spam in 2019-20 season.

Massive factor in Javi getting the boot. That goes in and we probably get something out of that game.

In fairness, the second half of his first season he did prove he was unable to get a misfiring team that was low on confidence back on track. Which he proved again second time around!

True...I think we'd have won as we were on top & as Spam proved all season, they were fragile.

Not the most convincing passer, but reminds me of a young Doucoure in many ways

Quiet like the rest of the team at the start of the second half, but impressive otherwise, I'd say our MotM

Certainly got flashes of a good player, just needs time to adapt. When everyone is fit, our midfield doesn't look horrific, as long as we get Bacuna out of it.

Louza-Kone-Choudhury looks like a good midfield at this level, shame that I can only say with confidence that we'll keep one of them!

Decent first half then faded a little as we lost momentum a bit .

Not that we have much in reserve, but it was probably a mistake to start him, looked well off the pace

And if we are relying on a 20 year old kid just coming into English football says it all.

Like Asprilla, they should have been used sparingly until they were used to the league. Our lack of squad depth is shocking so we’ve had to play him.

He's generally been decent for us, but a 20 year old who's been a professional footballer for a year coming straight from Canada shouldn't be able to walk into a team, not least when he's travelled half the globe

Another ridiculous signing though. £8m isn’t it? For that in the Championship we should be getting a ready to go all round midfielder, not a kid with good technical attributes but who otherwise looks lost in the carnage in the middle that is most games in this league.

He's coming from a long journey so that does not help. But you look at the dross we have in midfield aside from Louza who is not there or motivated and Asprilla who also needed to be bled in. All down to Pozzo's mismanagement again in terms of recruitment. Anyone who has watched football for any length of time can see that Kone has the ability and talent to be a very good player. Just not here at the moment. The club is a shambles.

Just the usual Pozzo nonsense again. Not what the team needed in the here and now to help us get promoted, whilst at the same time we chuck an £8m investment into an environment where we change managers every five minutes, so the chances of that £8m investment doubling or tripling (which is all Pozzo is really interested in) and helping the club in a different way are also severely hampered. A lose lose scenario.

We all want the club to buy less Danny Rose types and get rid of the old dead wood like Kabasele etc. But provide an awful environment for young players to work out.

Totally agree. I’ve been banging on about the midfield deficiencies all season. How long has Louza been unavailable to us? Virtually the entire season. He’s back now but it’s too little too late. We signed Kone for a very high fee when he was not really needed for this season. None of the other midfield players are to the standard needed for a promotion chase and I include Choudhury in that. He gives the ball away far too often.

Nothing was done in January to fix the midfield, apart from a lame attempt to sign Sissoko. I said at the time this lack of remedial action for the midfield problems will cost us promotion, and that has played out. It was an obvious outcome but those running the club just could not see it.

Mistakes and errors of judgement have plagued the club for the last 4 years. Even though Manga is here, mistakes have continued it seems. Neither Bilic or Wilder fancy Araujo. We should never have signed Bayo, but ironically we should have never loaned him out in January. That has to be on Manga.

We are now a shadow of the club we were. Hopefully Manga will prove to be astute in his decisions and he’s not been with us long enough for me to form a strong judgement on him, but right now the immediate future for the club looks very bleak.

Hopefully get £25m for Kone and Kayembe. That should pay Kabasele's wages for a few weeks at least, and maybe we could even afford to give Cleverley and Cathcart new 5-year deals.

In those comments somebody mentions he was on loan here but I’m sure we signed him. Still it’s between us and Udinese so I’m sure it’s fine!

Ah well. Thought he looked confused most of the time he was on the pitch but makes a lot more sense if he'd been temporarily parked here for six months before his dream move to Serie A and was just dialling his non performances in.

I think he's got bags of talent, even if he's very raw at this stage, he showed flashed this season without looking like nailing down a spot in the team. Would be disappointed if we lost him before he could really show what he was about, but not too surprised as we all suspected it would be coming

I still find it difficult to know what it is he really offers the team. No big loss.
