Can't believe the Lions with all the talent they have are still again picking first. Surely at some point they will really turn it around.
I hate the gap between our clocks going back and theirs. I usually pop out on Sunday evening and get back for 9 for the full 9.25pm game so will miss the first hour. I guess it means I can catch more of the last game before going to bed. I think it's only for a few weeks. Edit: it looks like it's just this weekend! I can live with that!
Ever watch a game of NFL and think a team are just trying not to win making stupid plays?! Same with pointless defensive fouls on 3rd downs. Why get done for holding when you're opponents are 3rd and 20. Baffles me sometimes to the point it seems like match fixing. Or are some players just idiots?!!!
Ever watch a game and think "this sport is fixed"?! Bucks only score 9 points all game. Get to 1 minute 45 to go with the ball in Rams hand. Rams lose ball. Bucks score a touchdown in 44 seconds after failing all game. It's a bit weird. That and I lost money on it! I'm not bitter.
Lost a 250 quid accumulator thanks to the Falcons deciding they didn't want to win last night. Some very dubious play calling going on there to say the least.
Check out the Falcons last few plays. Mariota threw some shockers to open players that were too low or too fast. Any extra yards to first down and the game was won. They ended up punting. Then they get an interception which they then fumble. Then they let Chargers get into field goal range in 1 play to lose in the last second. Unbelievably dodgy!
Great game, I had a bet on that both teams would score a TD and a FG in both halves, width of the post cost me £500.
As an Eagles fan that was tough to take! A few crucial mistakes on our side though, and we just couldn't stop them in the second half or get near Mahomes all game. Harsh holding call at the end I feel. If you're calling that, then you're calling about 10 of them a game. Not saying the result may have been different, but such a shame that a great game ended in that way.
Same, watched the 10 minute highlights on YouTube this morning. Like CMC, I wanted both teams to lose. And of course, KC get their obligatory phantom last gasp game winning penalty like they have all season. Pretty awful season all in all.
Yes indeed but I saw a little on SSN yesterday morning with a couple of the experts, current or ex players. They were huge! "Hands like hams, knees like trees" as 10CC said!
Does anyone else watch "NFL Redzone" on Sunday evening on Sky? It's absolutely addictive. No adverts, constant updates and highlights of all the scores and highlights as and when they happen. It's like Gillette Soccer Saturday (or whatever it's called these days) but on steroids!
Forgot about this thread. It’s fun watching the Texans again, after quite a few years where it was almost impossible to find anything enjoyable about the team. Looking forward to tomorrow afternoon.
Yeah, as a 49er, i’m a big fan of DeMeco Ryans. He’s doing an unbelievable job. Just love his excitement on the touchline, I was gutted when he left. Our coaches are just all prime pickings for head coaches right now. Stroud is the chosen one too. The Texans are going to be a problem for the next few years. I think it’s the best and most open playoff selection for a good few years. The Ravens and the 49ers might seem like the obvious Superbowl but what’s obvious is that most teams can be a threat to any others. I’m wildly excited to see the Dolphins play in -20 temperatures tonight. Can’t wait.
It’s all on DeMeco. He’s completely changed the franchise, and to do it in such a short time with the roster he inherited is genuinely unbelievable. You couldn’t give away Texans tickets last season, and it wasn’t a surprise when the likes of the Steelers or Ravens came to town to find more away fans at NRG. Stroud is proving to be such a talent, and has shown a lot of poise. Last week, the throw he made on the opening play to completely crush any hype amongst the home crowd was just magnificent. I watched a lot of Tank Dell at UH over the last couple years, and that kid can ball too. Genuinely electric with the ball in his hands. Gutted that he’s missing the end of this year. Definitely agree that the playoffs feel wide open this year. Really looking forward to the games this weekend.
Exciting game in Houston so far. As a Patriots fan, the big news this week has been Belichick leaving of course. Still hard to picture someone else in his place on the sidelines! Great memories over 20 years but probably was the right time, if not a couple of years too late. Anyone able to give any perspective on how big news this has been in the US? Closest thing I can imagine over here would have been when Alex Ferguson left Man Utd. Guess the conversation likely to have moved on at this point anyway, both with the new coach appointed and now of course the play offs. Personally love to watch Lamar Jackson play so a Ravens win in Feb would be fine with me.
Big blow for Wales and maybe rugby in general losing one of their young stars to the NFL. Good luck to him. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/67995451
Niners might as well book their Super Bowl flights now, can't see anyone in the NFC stopping them. The AFC should be close though. As for the Jets, next year is our year (again).
Slight worries over what Love might do to our secondary tonight, but think we'll have enough with McCaffrey to get over the line. Baltimore, Buffalo and Detroit in the others.
