Yeah he's hopeless in the air. He was saying in his first interview that was his strength! I do feel for him a bit though as it's not easy to make an impression up front if you're living off sub appearances. Didn't get any service from Ken and Sarr, and they both wasted great chances he created
I think Bayo is decent . He’s just not really a target man . Some of his little touches are good . He gets into good positions and is a half decent finisher. I don’t think he’s what we need as a solo striker though . He doesn’t bring what Davis does. I think he’d work better in a two.
Use the slow cooker regularly and the ninja nutribullet. I don't have a Foreman but I have a tepenyaki that I take camping and I would fugging LOVE a tea(coffee)smade
So the one I've got is a Costco own brand called Sur Le Table. The Ninja one seems highly rated but is at least twice the price. There are some oven versions (as opposed to baskets) which sell from 120-200 quid. In theory, I can do a small chicken in one basket of mind and some spuds/veg in the other. You aren't supposed to do more than 3/4 full or something though. I'm doing liver with bacon and onions tonight. I'll let you know how that goes.
I watched the highlights before I went shopping ( including Double Gloucester and Gorgonzola, with accompanying crackers). He did a few little deft touches, one for the Freddie chance ( Cuddley was unmarked had he squared it) and another couple. I'm warming to him.
What did people who watched stream think of the Asprilla penalty shout ? Live it Looked stone wall but view from terrace can often be deceiving .
They didn't show it again enough, but in real time it looked like he took a heavy touch and got McCleaned out
That dirty bar steward got a good pantomine booing every time he touched it, presumably for taking Pereyra out for 9 months.
Finally some cheese based discussion to get this thread back on track. Perconally I would pair Gorgonzolas tang with something more mild and creamy like a brie to act as an aperitif to the gorgonzola or as a palette cleanser before moving onto a heavy Stilton. Call me patriotic but is there a better cheese?
Clever marketing or not, I am extremely relaxed about the term ‘air fryer’. They simulate frying with the use of air, so as long as we accept that air frying is not a subset of true frying, but rather a term in its own right there should be no need for argument. Heaven knows this fanbase is divided enough without needing a further schism ripping through it.
Only seen it a couple of time at normal speed. It looked like he lost control and fell over (def not a dive), problem is we have so many players that go down looking for a penalty we are not given the benefit of doubt
I can see next summer you guys are going to replace your bbq's with air-fryers! Also @wfcmoog , draws won't do, we need wins!
Don't be obtuse. TVOR clearly wants to discuss Wigan-based air fryer content. Or possibly whether Joao Pedro was thinking of what to cook in an air fryer as he nodded home the winner. Is Kayembe so ponderous in possession because he's contemplating whether 'air frying' is a legitimate description?
Still don't overall know how I feel about yesterday, barring being happy we won two in a row since April 2021. just going to put down some thoughts as they come to me in no particular structure. I think Bayo had a decent game yesterday. His hold up play isn't as good as Davis, but he did better than I expected from him with some solid first touch play and awareness after we weathered the early pressure. He doesn't use his frame effectively as Davis without the ability to dominant a CB, but he does have some intelligence to his play and should have had an assist off Sarr. He gets in the right positions to potentially cause problems and does work for the team. I'd be interested to see him be the partner to Davis if we ever play 2 up front and let him focus more on his more natural poacher instincts and let Davis focus on link up. Sema was poor yesterday. Had his usual endeavour but wasted some good half chances which he didn't get on target. Wonder if he's feeling the effects of some dastardly challenges from the Luton game still? Either way, Kalu did what we sorely lacked all game which was run at and scare his man to force problems. I'd have Kalu starting a game soon ahead of him. Sarr was hiding too often. He needs to stop going to ground every time he's under pressure as he plays better when he believes he'll get past and ride it out more. He can be unplayable when his mind is committed to trying get a cross or shot off than just attempt to buy fouls. Again, showed good poaching instincts with late runs and shots but needs to do what he did against Luton and Norwich where he will run in behind and utilise his pace more. Bilic knows this and has called him out on this so what is stopping him doing this every game? Pedro. Wow. What a player he's developing into this Season. Seems to be a hybrid of a playmaker and striker with the incredibly rare gift of knowing when to take a man on, when to release and when to shoot. His awareness is top tier. He's playing at a level nobody else on the team can match. Think this deeper role actually works better as he gets the ball more and can do more with it. Just give him the ball and we will hurt teams. That header was top quality as was the leap. Choudhury was decent. He isn't an ambitious passer, but he moves it quickly and will fully commit to challenges and follow through with his leg fully each time, so the ball is cleared forwards in his tackles. He doesn't slow down the game too much which is important and with Pedro (Louza when he's back) as an option means he can focus on what he does best; be a destroyer and stop attacks. Kayembe was not the level he was against Luton but wasn't as poor as we've seen either. Think he's beginning to understand how to be more effective in his play for us which is to be less ambitious with his passing and just carry it forward as far as he can before doing a simple pass in space. A Doucoure v0.5. I'd like him to try and get some shots from range off as he has a surprisingly good technique on him once he eventually gets it onto his left foot. WTE looks a far more assured player now, which is what we've missed before now. I'm so happy he's showing he's not past it and just needed a reset. He looks far more comfortable with Cathcart or Hause partnering him but that's more due to those two playing to a good level. Sierralta was just poor a lot of the game yesterday and hope it's just a case of having to return from injury than him being that poor again. Kamara was OK, but not great. Usual effort put in and tracked back well enough but think he didn't really get into a groove for most of the game. Gosling is expectedly a very conservative makeshift RB but he's acquitting himself very well. We do however need a natural RB in January, but his attitude does have a notable impact on the team when having to dig in and get into games which is very important. Bachmann. Eh... He's doing OK but nothing more. I do want Okoye given a go, but I was also shown a surprising comparison between them a few days between Okoye last Season for Sparta Rotterdam (2021-22) and Daniel Bachmann (2022-23) this Season so far (Pre-Wigan) some of which went against what I saw in the extended highlights of games I watched for Sparta. Okoye played a deeper and more conservative approach than Bachmann does, while his passing was worse. While I knew his passing was worse, I didn't expect Okoye to be such a deep sitting goalkeeper but their claims per game (Punch or Catches) are similar regardless to their league average. Re: Positive Outcome, which is if the goalkeeper action (Pass, punch etc) leads to a foul or corner being won, shot taken etc shortly after their intervention in plays? His shot stopping was, on average, better than Bachmann's this Season. I do think a change between the sticks is still warranted, but it has undermined some of the argument. Overall, it was a battling win that we should have made easier for ourselves. If this is the catalyst to starting an unbeaten run then it will quickly be forgotten and we'll just remember the excellent header, but we need to see a bit more belief in ourselves and a stronger identity away from home, as at home we're doing well overall. Are we a team to sit deep and go long? Davis, Sarr, Pedro and Kalu / Sema / Bayo can facilitate that. Do we want to be ball dominant instead? We need Pedro and Asprilla playing then to provide more creativity to unlock teams. Maybe TDB can offer something soon? We aren't far away from being a dominant team, but we need to instil that something away from home that we've found at home.
While this is a very good post and one I enjoyed reading, there is a worrying lack of air fryer-related content
Both were terrible. The guy serving had a face on like his wife had just left him and he lost the house on Chelsea beating Brighton and an attitude to match. The food - pizza dough was really floppy, there were a few ingredients that were very suspect plus there was a ton of something on top that I'd be embarrassed to call cheese but I think that was what it was supposed to be, plus spicy chicken wings that were dry and crusty and worryingly didn't resemble any part of an actual chicken with something horrendous dumped on top that I understand might have been the hot sauce but I really couldn't be sure. So I won't be going back.
Semas biggest strength has always been his crossing and work-rate, moving him to the right basically removes the crossing aspect out of his game as it means he has to cut inside to get the cross off and his one footedness means it's predictable and easy to read and not as easy to do compared to his favoured left side.
