When I saw they’d signed all these players, I fancied watching a game so told my wife I’d take her up the Aris on Sunday.

Considering all our best youth prospects get nicked before they're ready to play for the first team I very much doubt that approach could be replicated with us to the same degree.

I've taken my wife up the Aris twice. Last two summers we flew into Thessaloniki and had a couple of days in the city. They have a cafe / bar in the stadium, so I made her go there both times (no game on sadly). First time up the Aris she was OK, but wasn't really up for it the second time. She did let me though.

Met some Greek guy in the club shop who started chatting when he heard we were English. He lives in London and goes to Watford games quite a bit.

I'm warming myself up for another Grimsby-like protest.

Although its a bit harder to climb up to the Directors box nowadays.

And I have a dodgy knee so I really shouldn't.

That Alan Lathwell bloke on Twitter is going to blow a gasket the way this is bubbling up.

“Entitled. Entitled. Entitled. Sick to death of the unrealistic expectations and downright nonsense written about Watford”

No sleep lost over this. But in hindsight blaming Giraldi (myself included) seems harsh. More than ever it is clear one numskull is doing the purchasing. And nearly all of it utter dross.

Best thing would be if Beano and Fux face sack themselves. Another classic deflection tactic is to sack a subordinate to divert the blame even though they appointed him in the first place. Like their choice of players he also turned out to be a dud. Meticulous preparation as with our scouting went into it.

The club is rotten and it starts from the top.

I'm in that club too! I take it as a badge of honour.

He was the one that spoke on one of the recent post game Twitter Spaces, said he didn't watch the game and then bored everyone senseless about his evening at a non league game.

OK. So he’s “working” for the club, as in his contract is not formally terminated, but not actually working for the club. So it is arguable that AL’s statement is “not true”.
Sorry for the hair-splitting, but many equate people making statements that are not true with active lying - a conflation that has certainly popped up on this forum - and I’m uncomfortable with implying individuals are liars, even if unintentionally, unless they are absolutely shown to be.
This is not trying to dig you out specifically, I just have a personal lack of comfort with some posters on the forum deciding some individuals, including journalists and our manager, are liars, based on inferences drawn from statements like these.

When people are on gardening leave I don’t know anyone who would refer to them as still working for a bank/hedge fund etc in my industry. Irrespective of the fact they are still being paid under contract they would say “he/she is no longer with the organisation”.

You are picking up Burnsy for no good reason here in my opinion.

    Chill out.

Giaretta no longer works for the club. Leventhal knows that and even caused a fuss with Edwards and the clubs press officer at yesterdays pre-game press conference because he was behind the curve with the news - hence his piece as some sort of odd take on the event.

You might be uncomfortable calling him a liar - but that’s what his piece is.

Very possible that the club have terminated his contract, offered a settlement, which hasn’t been accepted, so may well be in the hands of lawyers but no longer employed.

This isn't the first time this has been reported/quoted, is it? I'm sure a previous article about Mogi also highlighted this - people just wilfully ignore it!

Good riddance; his track record of transfers is shameful and the team has been going backwards in terms of ability and drive.

We don't really know what he does exactly so difficult to see whether his proposed departure is good news or not.
Anyway isn't Bayat effectively technical director ?

Exclusive from Uncle Ron on his Sunday service. Giaretta has been removed from his post because he was interfering with training, even going as far as telling players what to eat. Edwards and 4 senior players went to see Gino and told him he could not work with that type of interference.

Well not really. He’s only following the orders of Gino. This is why he’s not been sacked. The club are reassigning him to another part of the business.

Apparently Bayat is the unofficial DoF and oversees the signings. Giaretta is just Pozzo’s puppet just as Giraldi was.

On the face of it, it does sound positive, but considering his lack of real influence, it could be a way of appeasing Edwards and the fans while carrying on largely business as usual

Edwards needing the backing of four senior players to finally get Gino to sack this clown doesn't reflect well on anybody.

Especially since one of them was Danny Rose who was complaining after Giaretta told him to stick to only 3 whoppers at lunch.

I'm on Rose's side for this one, we've got plenty of whoppers to go around at the club.
