Weird one this. An Italian source reporting that a) we were linked with Aaron Ramsey on a free earlier but b) they tried to confirm it but were told there is nothing in it. Can’t find the initial report but thought I’d share as this is certainly an interesting and fun rumour. Would definitely take him if the finances are right. Think he’d be class at the level. https://www.ilbianconero.com/a/juve-ramsey-verso-l-addio-voci-sul-watford-ecco-la-verita-22078
He's a complete crock now though. He's also been linked with Forest recently. If he goes to the Champ then wouldn't Cardiff be more obvious? Unless he was fairly settled in the area while at Arsenal.
Are we sure that's definitely still the case, though? He barely featured for Rangers last season (relatively-speaking), managing a sum total of just over 500 league minutes in their strange two-segment league system, and as far as transfermarkt is concerned none of that was due to injury.
Yes! This is the kind of rumour I can behind. Completely bonkers, never going to happen. Used to get these all the time, remember when we were supposedly in for Mario Balotelli? This is what makes the summer, not wondering whether we'll sign Cyrus Christie on a free.
Not sure if he is fully fit but he doesn’t have a reported injury currently, yes and player in the final games of the season and for Wales (averaging 45 mins or so/match) in the off season.
That's incorrect then, as he went off with a hamstring injury vs Celtic on 17th April and missed all their remaining games of the season over the next month. https://www.scotsman.com/sport/foot...midfielders-injury-it-didnt-look-good-3657619 He eventually returned for Wales at the start of June: https://www.whoscored.com/Players/26820/Fixtures/Aaron-Ramsey
It's definitely weird that they didn't record the injury, then, but that Whoscored match history doesn't look anywhere near complete - according to Transfermarkt, he actually did play two games in the Premiership split in May, so he didn't miss the entire rest of the season, but even in that he still missed one of the three possible matches: Also, a lot of the games he didn't play were before that apparent injury, seemingly without any other injury given as a reason. All seems a bit odd.
I think that's a misquote, as it's Gordon Ramsay. Also, Gordon Ramsay played as a left-back (including a few games as a trialist for Aaron's last club Rangers).
Sorry, I wasn't asking if we're sure about the injury - I meant sure whether he's still far too good for the league.
Rangers fans seemed enthused in his early games, but in the end didn't seem that fussed about him leaving. A lot of that could do with him coming off the bench in the last minute to miss a vital pen in the Europa League final though!
I believe they do but somewhat tricky to navigate perhaps. https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/2...ges/20784/Show/Scotland-Premiership-2021-2022 I also think that the data from these should really be folded into the overall SPFL data. It’s the same competition, just a different stage.
Not even seen him linked with them… But if I was him, I’d have my agent on the phone to Brighton. Free Bissouma replacement and they have done well with rehabbing Lallana and Welbeck. Would take him every day of the week here - but it won’t happen for a number of reasons.
Sounds so completely leftfield only Neighbours could pull it off! Better be force-ghost style. I see Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are coming back for the final. Let's hope they don't end with a rendition of Especially for You. Ugh.
Who remembers the Bergomi rumour in 1999? I almost wet my pants when I saw that on Teletext, the Bazeley replacement. Then along came Des Lyttle.
We'll be trying to sign him on a 'pay as you play deal' similar to Welbeck, and meaning we'll never have to actually pay him.
I would have Fabregas than Ramsey. Actually I would rather have Graham Rix , who would help bring on the youth.
We were linked with Gazza when Glen Roeder was manager as they were best of mates, also linked with David Beckham towards the tail end of his career as he knew Elton!
Surely to god this is complete nonsense, I'm sure he would be fantastic but is he on £300k pw or something daft which is why they are trying offload him. No way he comes to us, if he is that unfit/injury prone that a decent side won't take him then USA or Saudi beckons.
