Who collectively achieve far less than the better, (initially) slightly more expensive options would, still end up costing more in the long run, do nothing for us on the pitch anyway, then end up being loaned round Europe until their contracts end or we pay them up. Good times.

I just don't know if transfer fees mean anything to Watford. Like I get you, on paper if £5 million British pounds in whole has left the bank account then yes sure we have every right to be annoyed but under The Pozzo's I don't know why, I just don't see it happening like that.

All the reports say he cost £5m, of course we won’t be paying out £5m all in one go, but because we borrow against every penny of income including player sales, then by the time we’ve paid for him in full it will probably be nearer £6m when you factor the cost of borrowing £5m over say three years in.

FTRE even found a way to hype-up signing Fletcher. There is no limit to the amount of dignity COGs will exchange to smell Duxbury's stale coffee-laden breath in person.

Once he starts mesmerising Championship defences with his dribbling we can call him Voodoo Rey.

It's about time someone mangled his first name

Did you know Voodoo Ray was actually a sample of Peter Cook saying "Voodoo Rage" but for some reason the sample was cut short before the g sound.

Lack of storage space on the sampler he was using is the reason, apparently.

I do always try to be a fair-minded person, so I want to say well done last night. A lively and decent cameo.

Decent attempt at goal last night during his short cameo, so might be an OK recruit, but it's too early to tell so the jury is still out.

Enjoyed when he aggressively barged their 8ft CM off the ball when we were under pressure. Very un-Geijo.

Seems to be a good player if not the most prolific, but if we keep that front line, then who cares that Manaj doesn't have the best track record of scoring goals!

Looked a bit of a battering ram. Not sure I see the logic of buying two non home grown strikers that seemingly play the same role

Looks like the sort of player to steal a goal on the far post.

A nicky Manaj , if you will.

Probably true, though Dennis is up there with the best strikers in this league, able to fashion his own chances. Any Championship team would miss him.

However, I reckon a bigger issue than Manaj, who can probably finish halfway competently, is the general lack of creativity in the team. Maybe that will improve, but at the moment the most likely game changer from the four in the middle is Sema and we know his limitations.

Sorry, you're right. Interesting that the "freebee" got onto the pitch before the £5m purchase, though I guess they aren't identical players....

Yep, joking aside if we somehow keep Sarr and Dennis it is hard to see us not winning the league if they stay injury free. If we lose both I think we will really struggle for goals.

Yes, with the slight proviso that we’d probably try to replace them..but I’m not holding my breath that we’d manage to get anybody in who would be even hack decent

We do look at the moment like a team whose goalscoring will come somewhat disproportionately from the front three. By that I mean if none of the trio up top score, it’s hard at the mo to see midfield or defence contributing many goals. I accept this could change of course.

A combination of Pedro, Sarr and Dennis ought to have a hatful of goals in it. On the evidence of last season and last night I think it needs something a bit more, like at least one faster wingback.

But I’m doubtful playing all three together is the best option.
