I think calling Boro our rivals this season is likely going to prove to be akin to calling the likes of Arsenal or West Ham our rivals last season.
Certainly if we stick with what we've got, and they sign Armstrong. Our rivals last year were Brentford, Burnley & Norwich realistically.
I imagine playing for Southampton, if it's a loan move, then he may be just inclined to stay south for logistical and family reasons as he is to return north. Just a thought.
Possibly, but if he thinks there's a good chance of Boro being promoted and it becoming a permanent move you'd think he'd probably jump at the chance to move back home. I just cannot envisage us signing someone like him either way.
Yes it's down to Adam, hopefully he and his family are settled in the South and he doesn't want to uproot them for a season. It's the only way I see this happening.
I'd imagine he'll end up at Boro. He won't be expecting much game time here with Bayo and Manaj at the club.
Why are some people making out Boro to b one of the promotion favourites anyway? They're fairly high with the bookies as well. They have a decent manager who has got promoted before, but they didn't finish the season particularly well, haven't got that good a squad, and have so far made two decent but not sparkling signings.
There still seems to be debate around as to whether it’s true Southampton will let him leave on loan.
I was wondering the same thing, looking at their squad roster they do not seem anything particularly special.
Wilder is probably the best manager in the league. Been successful everywhere he’s been. They have a really good back five and are two or three signings away (GK + two strikers) from having a top squad. They are a well-funded club so I suspect they will get those upgrades in too.
Pretty sure he moved to Berko as soon as it was financially viable for him (based on once walking past him on Berko High Street).
Adam Armstrong is the new horse of horses, because he has a lot of positive energy, natural strength and something that everyone would like to have - a natural leader par excellence. Congratulations champion, blessings to you, you deserve it.
I live in the North East, I doubt any of them live in Boro itself but the surrounding countryside, villages and some of the small towns are lovely.
Absolutely. You could easily live on the Moors and commute in. Lovely places like Roseberry Topping just on the edges. I'd totally live up there if I could work from home full-time.
