First Man Utd try to get Bachmann for free and now this? They really are a disgusting stain on the underpants of football.
Tweet about it here . Well he does seem to love it here but the temptations of a move back to to top flight football (no European football though ) might be appealing for him and we are probably trying to get any money we can .. https://mobile.twitter.com/OnlyGones/status/1541902489779425281 https://mobile.twitter.com/WD18Fans/status/1541907071188230151
This sounds incredibly plausible, and we'll be aware they have enough spare cash for a LB to hand us some kind of profit.
Sadly the rule of 11 means we have no choice but to sell £500k is a fantastic fee for someone who has never played in the championship
On the bright side if Kamara leaves there’s every chance Masina will stay and be shoehorned into the vacant left wing back role.
Yes very frustrating, esp when we’ve deliberately tried to minimise the number of such players. On the positive side, it seems we will be immune against such attacks next summer.
I'm aware your comment is in jest, but Lyon's deal for Malacia was going to be €12mil + €3mil in add-ons. If they really want Kamara and we'd consider selling then we'd surely ask for a decent fee. I didn't quite realise though that Kamara was 28 already (while Malacia is 22), which could still limit the amount we could demand for him. It's one thing which might actually count in our favour in terms of keeping him as it might be more useful to hold on to him this season if we're not going to make a decent amount from it.
Why? Masina seems unlikely to return and Kiko appears to be staying. LWB will most likely be Sema if Kamara leaves. If Masina stays, which I really doubt, it'd prob just be as cover for both LWB and LCB.
It would be Sema. Masina doesn't seem likely to return, and even if he did would probably be behind him anyway.
If Sema plays will he manage to run up and down the line as a wing back for more than 10 minutes? I know he did better in the Championship last time but not sure Ken is the answer. Masina did say he was leaving but not heard much since.
Sema is not the answer to any question. Absolutely dreadful player given absurd contract extension by the geniuses in charge.
It could seriously help the finances if we cash in on Kamara, we could probably get as much as £4m judging by the superb business we did for Zinckernagel.
If they could sell for €12m+ and say (for example), bring Doig or Karbownik in for £4m-£5m - then I can see why the club would do it.
i think if t they sold kamara it would be the first time since theyve been here that the pozzos have sold a reigning player of the season
Indeed, Doig and Sema would still be fine to have in the Champ. Albeit if we were to get promoted again I suspect we'd have to go and buy yet another LWB. Karbownik seems like a predominantly right-footed player - I don't think that's good at all for a LWB and certainly not in Edwards' system. Would 100% avoid.
It would be really poetic in underlining their incompetence to sign a player for €4m in January. They become player of the season, we then sell him in the summer for £4m thinking it's a master stroke only to realise we gave him a €650k joining fee so in fact lost money.
I think the ability to run up and down the line is the least of Ken's worries. It's his footballing ability that concerns me!
Of course we should want more but that's the joke of it. It's not inconceivable that we would put such a ridiculously poor deal together.
