Stevie Glass after the Aberdeen vs Rangers game today laughed when he was asked about it and said as if we are going to loan one of our best players out and then only get the money if they manage to stay up.

So Liverpool are about to sign Calvin Ramsey with an initial fee of £4mil potentially rising to £6mil with add ons etc.

Considering he’s rated much higher than Ferguson, you would think that if we are indeed still interested in him, we can get him for him around £3mil.

We will not spend a penny this window. Mogi Bayat will make a nice amount from us though.

More chance of us ending up with a Ferguson tractor in defence next season. Or at least some players with both the speed and turning skills of one.

That's alright. Dux has bid empty promises and goodwill gestures - no team can compete with that in the bargaining front.

Still wants to join I’m told. They’ve put out feelers so we’ll have to wait and see.

I think Ferguson clearly wants to come to England but he’s not good enough for the PL and will struggle to find a champ club willing to pay the fee

Well Millwall seem willing to pay £1.5mil for him.

Aberdeen are probably regretting having turned down what would have likely been a larger offer from us last summer and are now hoping we'll come back again with a higher offer than Millwall's.

Which PL side does he get into? Maybe Forest as a Garner replacement but that’s it. Not saying he’s bad or anything but I don’t think a PL side is going to come in for him and use him as a first teamer. Like his former teammate McKenna, at Forest, if he wants to play PL football he’ll have to join a Championship side, embed himself into the side and help them go up.

Daniel Ballard, Jed Wallace, Scott Twine, Keinan Davis and others appear to be of a similar quality (although all are better than Ferguson to my eyes). All players who could become PL players, but no PL club sign would actually go and buy and put them in the side regularly. They’re shopping at a different supermarket.

You're right about the league but 16 goals in 45 games is pretty darn good for a midfielder

16 goals from midfield is nothing short of superb. Got his first cap for Scotland. What would you class a good season then?

Well we assumed he was going to be good enough last season to play PL football. Just not for the price Aberdeen wanted.

Whoopie, 16 goals in Scotland has led to a bid from....Millwall! I've read what Aberdeen fans have said, a lot have said he's been turd. As @LeedsOrn says, what PL team does he get in?

Did we? I don’t think I did. I would have happily greeted his signing last year given his age and price - which would have been appropriate for a squad player.

He’s a far superior player to Edo Kayembe and you did welcome him when we were a PL team.

This was my response to Kayembe’s arrival:
“We have signed Kamara - who is clearly at least one level above Kayembe - for a similar fee. Given the state of finances in football right now I think £4-5m can get someone more established/highly rated in.”

Hardly a welcoming. I don’t think Kayembe is bad, and I don’t think he’s done anything wrong and think if he stays he’ll be a fine squad player in the Championship. But like Ferguson no other Pl side would have signed him.
