Reported interest according to The Mirror for Dennis from West Ham for £20 million - an auction would be nice. He has four years left on his contract, having arrived for just £3million from Belgian side Club Brugge last summer. He is valued at between £20-30million with Watford expected to push for as much as they can as Brugge are due a sell-on fee. Dennis’s representatives are set to hold talks with Watford next week after their final game, at Chelsea on Sunday. Newcastle are also keen but the Hammers are able to offer European football with the club in the Europa Conference League as things stand.
Don’t understand the criticism I’m seeing of him on social media. “I’ll drive him there myself” etc. No offence to Kamara, but Dennis was clearly our true PotY. The only one who showed any PL class. Without his goals/assists we would’ve been consigned to 20th a long time ago and I reckon Hodgson’s ‘tactics’ have to be a large factor in why his output dried up. It’s not just him that stopped scoring, it was the entire team. £20m is a bargain for anyone who can get into double figures playing with this absolute shower of a team.
Don't try to understand the way our fans brains work. The vast majority of them are incredibly dumb and/or incredibly weird.
I think it's a little bit like your bird finishing with you and then pretending you didn't like her anyway
Not going to pretend that I'm arsed about him either way, yet another talented footballer who probably didn't much care for the club (quite possibly with good reason!), but who both sides have done well out of. Farewell Dennis, let's get that auction going!
You basically have to double his goals and assists, given he scored them for our awful team. 20 goals and 12 assists in his first season in England. I want £40m.
We really should have taken Okereke as well from Club Brugge who didn't rate him. Just like Dennis, he was outstanding for Venezia but unfortunately they still got relegated with all his efforts. I still think if we had another attacker who got as much goals and assist as Dennis in the team, we would have survive. Yeah, we are terrible defensively but most of those games where we had a good start and scored first, I noticed we always had about 2 or 3 more good chances to score more and seal the win but the issue we had was that King, Pedro and Kucko were at end of most of those chances and when they didn't make good use of them, we end up losing the game because we usually struggle to keep our opponents from scoring in the second halves especially when we are playing at home. Once the opposition equalize, we stop putting much effort and we eventually lose the game. I think if we had taken our chances in the first halves and scored 2 or 3 in those games teams came from behind to beat us, we EASILY would have survive the drop without having much clean sheets as surviving relegation this season doesn't really require a team being too good. Do you know much about Lois Openda? He seems to have had a very good season in the Eredivisie. He seems pretty similar to Dennis in many respects, albeit not quite as good. I don't suppose he'd be willing to drop to the Championship now though.
