How do you solve a problem like Watford Well, let’s be honest it’s hard to be motivated to write a forward for a team made up of individuals that cant be arsed to turn up play, even when they are paid more in a week than I make in a month (and in many cases more than I make in a year). However, I will try and keep on track and let other threads deal with the issues of Pozzo out / Roy Out / The whole squad out / we are going down. The Facts The last time we played Man U we gave them a kicking, and that’s got to hurt, Man U currently sit 4th in the prem with the last 5 games being WDDWW, but that is masking a reality that Man U have been under performing all season with draws against the likes of Southampton / Burnley / Newcastle, losses to Wolves and lots of 1:0 wins. We go into this game with Man U trying to secure 4th and make up the gap to 3rd and they are not going to want to lose to use again. Watford, we are all well aware of our stats, we did the double over villa and were just starting to look like we might have had the cohunes for this fight, then were humiliated by Crystal Palace in a manner that will set us back by weeks. How do we win I imagine our big names will turn up for this one, a chance to put themselves in the shop windows before we sell in the summer, as for the rest of the squad who knows what motivation they need to put a shift in. I think Roy’s tactics could have produce results if he had come in when we appointed CR70, but now its hard to see the defence first strategy paying off. I don’t think we can play for 80 mins trying to cling for a 0-0 and then nick a goal for a 1:0 victory, so do we go all out and risk another crippling defeat – does it even matter, chance are we are going down and chances are that goal difference isn't going to change that, might as well lose by 5 trying to attack rather than lose by 1 trying to defend. Man U are not exactly prolific goal scorers, with only Ronaldo (15) and Fernandes (9) scoring any significant number of goals, however 15 of there players have hit the back of the net compared to 8 of ours. I would imagine they will put out a full-strength side wanting to take no risks and imagine they will be well up for it. For us I would drop Cleverly and King (nothing against either but its just not working) and bring in Cucho (for king) and JP in midfield, that way we have some pace and skill on the pitch to try and make something happen, however if this fails it doesn’t leave us with a plan B (assume Kalu just isn’t good enough). Our defence had a very bad day against Crystal Palace and some of our good-looking signings just seemed to lose the plot, still can’t work out what Samir was doing. We need Sissoko, JP and Louza to drive forward through the middle with Sarr and Cucho out wide and Dennis to stay focused in the middle, our defence needs to be pushing up, we look much better playing in the opponents half than we do in our own, most importantly no crap mis-hit passes, if Kiko is on corners they need to be delivered like the Sissoko goal, not hit into the first man. I know nothing about football, but when I was at school the teacher always used to say play in to space and don’t cross the ball across your own goal – seems fairly sensible, however also seems to be the opposite of what we do. We need to fight, chase everything and take the game to them. Can we win NO Man U 4 – Watford 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apologies for any spelling mistakes / incorrect words / mis types / bad punctuation - but I just cant be arsed to do this properly
The dichotomy between our home and away form actually gives me a tiny amount of hope here. We will at least keep it tighter than last night I would think.
Played 13 won 2 drew 1 lost 10 at home Played 12 won 3 draw 2 lost 7 away I'd say dichotomy is a bit of a stretch.
I can’t see past a routine 2-1 win for us. Of course this will shock the football world and even our own fan base, but United are flaky. They will trip over their own arrogance, and we’ll beat them again, just like last time. Another double for the ‘orns.
We'll sit back, Man Utd will score just before half time and then the second half will be a bloodbath. Man Utd 5 - 0 Watford
Words really cannot describe just how dull this tedious shtick has now become. At least change it up a bit, trolls are meant to be entertaining.
If we get a result in this game it just adds to the confusion and frustration for fans. Knowing us, we will be the first club in history to do the double over United and get relegated.
I'm going to this. I wish I wasn't. I bought the tickets a month ago as my cousin and various relatives up there. Once again I'm fuming because going to watch Watford with the kids is "our" thing but the product itself makes my skin crawl these days. At least we're going into Manchester on the Sunday and I get to take a detour to the Ian Curtis mural.
Who are L*t*n playing? I shall invest all my energy in them. I will carry my Αλέξανδρος coin with me all day on court, as a good luck charm for us and L*t*n's opponents.
This is the sort of post that really irritates me. We know there is rot within the club and things need to change. We know we'll probably get relegated. We know our players aren't good enough. We know we'll probably lose on Saturday. Even I spoke a few weeks ago of wanting some sort of demonstration against the owners. But never, ever do I hope we lose. It doesn't matter to me whether you meant that as a joke or for real. You probably don't care, however imo you do come across as a bit of a berk when you post things like that.
Wayne Rooneys DC. Craig Forsyth still playing for them 10 years after he left us-I still recall him striding forward and hitting a left footed pile driver from outside the box (remember those type of shots -like hens teeth now) to score the winner at home to Leicester City 10 years ago this month (Dyche's last season-so PP "Pre Pozzo")
We're Watford - away day try hard. At home we are homeless. Heart says will win 1-0 Head and the rest of the universe says we get a right Rashford'ing. MU 4 Wat 1
Joy Division, Smiths , T’Roses and T’Mondays are up there with the absolute best . But they ain’t no John,Michael , Halliwell or lead guitarist bloke from Wire, that’s for sure . But apparently Le Bon was from Bushey . I’m not so sure . Next they’ll be saying Banarama were from the Meriden .
Ah yes so I see! Charlotte Keeley at STAGS used to like DC. She used to write out every team and results in an exercise book for the whole season. I wonder what became of her? Up the Rams!
Really hoping we get the final Champions League place. I’d start Pogba, Bruno and McTominay. Cavani up front it he’s recovered, as Ronaldo needs a rest SIIIIIIUUUUUUUU Fingers crossed for a Pogba hat-trick and maybe some game time for young Mejbri.
Given how mentally weak our team appears to be aside from Cucho and Pedro who keep going and going why do we lack a psychologist. I think most teams have one but it would appear we do not. It will be a miracle if we get anything. I expect the same plan to sit deep and hit on the counter. There might be a remote chance of a point if they play like they did against Villa. It's a very remote chance.
3-0 defeat. 28% possession. 4 shots. Roy increasingly flustered in post match interview. Fury on the forum. VoR can still see the LIGHT at the END of the tunnel and urges POSITIVITY.
