Not totally random as they may have ended up with one of the last dwindling cogs, but certainly a random BW would’ve easily set them on the right track.

It’s a tough one. Poor Roy and Ray will probably get the boot by these clowns before Easter. But if they did succeed then those ****heads in charge would look like they’ve got it right which clearly they’ve massively ****ed up and can **** off back to Italy.

Gino you are out your depth your scouting model is out dated the agent in your back pocket is corrupt these chancers you sign are not the standard this league requires. Do every Watford fan a favour and piss off back to daddy

Is that what it was? I couldn't hear well and thought that we'd named a stand after Ron Swanson.

There was a feeling today that any hope is going fast .
It is my opinion that , at the time , I agreed with Xisco sacking , he should have been
supported in the close season with an appointment of a number 2 who has been around
the block a few times . Think Bertie Mee or Keith Burkenshaw in years gone by .
As an aside although Brighton deserved their win no doubt they are just the Burnley of the south .
A functional 4-4-2 , get the full backs high, work hard , discipline, shape, bog standard pragmatic basics.
Anyone with any football knowledge can set up like this. Your Klopps and Peps etc can do this but crucially
do the attacking stuff too which is the hardest to implement.

In the Premier League wealth league Watford are quoted as second bottom and one of only two clubs whose owners are quoted in millions and not billions. Tbf there are two unquoted clubs, one of whom (Burnley) might or might not be worse off by us.
Is it a coincidence that the two lowest wealth clubs are so threatened with relegation?
Maybe, just maybe, Watford are better run than many on here claim. I'm not saying this is a fact, just it is a possibility.
And, while I am swimming against the flow, I don't think there are many players at the club who are 'mercenaries' and don't care. There are just too many who are not good enough.
    It's a shame.

Obviously mistakes have been made, but I can't help but think people are ignoring just how perilous our financial position was last season. I just don't think we had the finances to compete in the league this season barring taking massive gambles or unearthing some absolute gems like Dennis, who have offered a little bit of hope. If we're going to go down, as seems inevitable now, hopefully we'll be in a slightly stronger position to cope (though I'm not convinced of that right now either). Staying in the Premier League consistently requires massive spending power we just don't have access to, the allocation of resources has been ever more stretched over the last ten years and the models the Pozzo's relied on to give them a leg up appear to be weakening in their influence as other data collection and analysis systems have caught up and even superceded them.

Looking at the attrition of clubs that have come up and gone back down again, it's clear that you need huge funds or a really good strategy and we have neither right now. It might just be the nature of the beast for a club our size.

We’ve been through this a million times. Four seasons of comfortable survival followed by three years of shambolic decisions that every man and his dog said as they happened in real time were shambolic decisions confirm it’s not just a question of money.

So is Gino a good owner, or was he just a lucky owner?

Far too many negatives on here. Let’s look at the positives.

There were 88 minutes, plus injury time, where we didn’t concede a goal.

Our gung-ho approach ensured we had a shot on target to savour.

The last time we played Brighton at home we lost 3-0, so a clear improvement on that.

We are still not mathematically relegated.

Ann Swanson has a stand named after her.

Roy and Roy waved at us.

    It’s all good.

    Absolutely hopeless. Another shocking performance.
    We are an embarrassment.
I will always be a fan, but we are heading into a period of being a rudderless club, with zero direction by the manager, players and owner.
Losing to Brighton at home, who coasted most of the game is a sign of how poor we are .
We could spend years in the wilderness now that we are relegated.
What a total shower of sh*t our club has become.
Massive changes must happen. The CEO, the manager, players and perhaps the owner.
I wouldn't be surprised to see our home crowds around 12000-14000 at a push real soon.
As someone else has said already. We just wanted to see a team that had a chance of staying up, even if the odds were stacked against us. Yet, we got sheer dross, European bargain bin transfers and what seems like a business plan to include relegation. Well, Duxbury and Gino must be very happy now.
What a real shame for the Watford fans, new and old
    That's all.

We had about six touches in the first seven minutes then had a really productive minute where we had three.

I misheard and thought the stand was being named One Last Swansong, which felt appropriate as today was mostly probably that.

Also, if we just went down with a load of free transfers and loans, because the cupboards were bare, that's one thing, but signing goalies we can't use, wingers we won't use, obese midfielders, hugely fat full backs etc. And wasting a fortune in the process, whilst still stubbornly refusing to spend a single pound on central defence, it's just unforgivable.

As I’ve posted before, we’re now on on a worse PPG record than an Aidy Boothroyd PL team that didn’t spend a penny and lost two of its best players. The money argument just doesn’t stack up anymore because we’ve still spent a reasonable amount of it to end up in a worse position.

I still don't think we are playing our best 11. It's crazy to think that 3 managers and over half the season later we are still starting games with Cleverley, Kucka, Cathcart and now King is falling into that category. I've no idea where Sieralta is but he looked like he could make the step up and just has not has the opportunity this season. King is not a striker. He is a waste of space as a front man and needs to be either moved out to the wing or benched. Pedro is one of our most creative players and has to start. Dennis needs to start playing for the team he is so selfish and seems to be playing to manufacture a move in the summer. Possession is so poor and we give the ball away so quickly, it's like the players don't train together no doubt we will have another 16 players come in next year. The only continuity is Gino handing out crazy long contracts to already past their peak crap

The team selection and tactical setup were only to make the team hard to beat, but it was a game they really needed to win. Roy doesn't do bold and sticks to what he knows, steady, solid, slow evolution rather than revolution. Unfortunately, there is no time to adapt the team to his way of thinking. That team was far, far too cautious. As soon as a goal was conceded the fragile confidence shattered and any lingering belief that they might sneak a win evaporated. It does look like it's going to be a long, slow lingering relegation season. The patient's monitor indicates there is life but in reality the brain died after the first transfer window closed. Time to get the black armbands out.
