I agree and moreover William's confidence appears non existent. It's almost cruel to play him and Lord help us and him if Lukaku plays.
Somehow we thought it would be a good idea to tie him down until 2024. We'll be stuck with him for another two seasons after this one ends.
Not at all. It’s to make sure we get the highest transfer value. Like the experts on here said about Holebas.
He'll be 33 by the time his contract is up. Were they hoping he'd suddenly turn into a good centre back so he could improve the team? Maybe they were hoping he'd suddenly turn into a good centre back so we could sell him on? Maybe they thought he'd start picking up less knocks as he got older! Nothing about it makes sense but it's entirely expected from the club.
Not very well considering he started as a forward. I like Kabs but he is definitely not the answer and is never fit anyways.
I also like Kabs - he's funny and seems like a great person. Probably the WFC player I'd most like to go out for a drink with. I've not noticed particular problems with the accuracy of his passing, but it's so long since we saw him, it's hard to remember. However it MUST be better than the wayward efforts of Bollocky Billy T. He'd be better off aiming to pass to the opposition I reckon and then he might stand more chance of hitting a yellow shirt.
It's just amazes me how a professional footballer of any standard can't pass a football. Don't get me wrong but WTE, Kucka were absolutely horrendous second half. Whether it be ability, fitness or composure I don't know. Cleverly too, his free kick just before his substitution was shocking. I used to deliver a better ball on a Sunday morning with a raging hangover.
Was that was the free kick Tom rolled gently forward to their line of facing defenders, allowing them to break while our line of players waiting the cross all struggled to get back? Yes, he would have been better playing a 70 yard backpass to Bachmann than that.,
No, you just thought you did cos you were still pi55ed. And how about the first two headers of the match? Absolute nightmare. (Insert name of CB here)’s jumping! Followed by (same name)’s spewing.
Isn't there a new version of Football Manager out? Think Watford should double check he's actually injured.
I fear Kabs might be a virtual permanent sick note from now on, and despite what many on here say, I think it is such a shame as he is a decent player who probably has had his career cut short by injury.
Yes bad luck for Kabs. But the owners did the extension in May 2020. Just after we went down. Let's extend a contract until the injury prone player is 34 straight after relegation. And then they worry why they have financial problems. Our owners are idiots, idiots, idiots.
A. He was a half-decent player a number of years ago. Not now. Not even remotely. There's a reason many people on here say it - it's because it is true despite him being your latest little pet project to try and big up. B. Even when he wasn't injured in the more later years, he hasn't been able to get a game over some terrible CB's. C. He's not a permanent sick note 'from now on' - it's been that way for a good number of years. The club giving him the contract they did, when they did, is up there with extending an ageing Cleverley's deal for no reason when it had years to run and extending Janmaat's deal, only for him to be paid off just a few months later.
When he joined it looked a great signing. He's a good size for a centre back, not slow and chipped in with goals. However, it was pretty clear from seeing him live for the first time that he is a dreadful footballer, technically one of the worst I've seen for us. Add to that the brainfarts and he's been a very poor signing overall. I don't like to be too harsh on Kabasele though because he is a lovely guy and is one of the few players in the current bunch that have bothered connecting with the fans. But yeah, unfortunately it's mostly been really poor and the contract extension is shocking, although that's not his fault.
I'm still waiting for the tax-dodge investigation to be announced as I can see no other reason for it.
Ryan Gray from the Wobby says he’s going no where https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19821979.samir-complete-move-watford-udinese/
Gray has been decent lately, however one of our CB’s will have to go if Vida comes in as well. Could be Nkoulou, although I hope not. But Nkoulou, Kabasele, Cathcart, Vida, Sierralta, WTE and Samir is far too many. Kabs is never fit, so for me, he would be the one to go.
Regretfully I agree. Someone has to make way and I can only see it being Nkoulou if Kabasele is confirmed to be staying put. Shame - he looked good in his 2 games.
7 into 3 isn’t so unreasonable if we’re moving to a back 3, particularly considering that WTE is away for a month and Nkoulou injured.
It'll probably be Nkoulou going the other way. Shame as we're then an injury away from using one of the chuckle brothers again.
7 into 3 isn't unreasonable for a back 3, however, considering our current squad has 24 over 21s, we will be 3 players over the limit if we sign the expected 4 players. Do we offload some players (Gosling? Fletcher? Tufan?), or do we just not name them in the squad?
Option 1 is offload them. Option 2 is not naming them in the squad. I doubt if Fletcher will be offloaded unless we sign another forward, which seems unlikely. Seeing as Sarr may not play till late Feb earliest, having only King, Dennis, JP & Cucho as any sort of strike force is just too risky...even if that's what they did with the defence.
Really hoping that we offload Kabasele instead of Nkoulou. If we don't bring in Vida as well and let Nkoulou go to Udninese we will basically be where we started.
