Agreed. Think it's just a bit of a cliché that gets trotted out about lightweight attacking players. In reality, he'd have a lot less of the ball, fewer options once on it and better players trying to deprive him of it!

Nowhere in my statement did I say we are Liverpool. You are just making a strawman argument.

I am simply saying that even if a player isn't in our plan next season, that doesn't mean we should ship him out for next to nothing.

Whether or not he is good enough for the PL, I don't know, but I do think he is worth more than £2m because there is clearly talent in there and we are in no need to sell (we are in the PL and he is on a long term deal).

Think the referees do protect players a bit better than the championship but agree with the rest of it.

After the first few weeks I didn't have an issue with his physicality, I thought he adapted to that pretty well. My bigger issue was actually his final ball wasn't great, but our whole attack had become a bit dysfunctional by the time he came into the side.

We have nobody else in CM who we could reasonably expect an attacking output from. If we're about to sign a 10/winger who's better, then fine. But there are about a dozen players I'd look at first if we're trying to trim to squad.

There seems to be some momentum behind this possible transfer. This
    https://www.nottinghamforest.news/2...ye-move-for-watford-star-philip-zinckernagel/

Interesting that some sloppy journalist is bigging up PZ7 a little bit though...

"Nottingham Forest are considering a move for Watford forward Philip Zinckernagel, according to a report by Football Insider.
The 26-year-old signed for the Hornets in January. He penned a five-and-a-half year contract and helped the club into the Premier League.
Zinckernagel checked in from Bodo/Glimt and proved a real hit. He made 21 appearances for Xisco Munoz’s team, scoring four goals and claiming five assists."

Impressive stats indeed from January. Appearances? Yup, tick. Assists? Yeah 5. Err 4 goals...well I remember that tap in from the edge of the 6 yard box with the Bristol keeper AWOL and...? Perhaps the journalist, Lee Clarke, has just received his marching orders from Matt Hancock's Communications Team and can't quite get used to applying the truth yet!

I'd like him to stay, wouldn't be devastated if he left, but he's better than Forest. £2m is peanuts too, he'd be worth much more than that to us

On Twitter the suggestion was it might be a loan move.

Wouldn't so much faith in him either way tbh.

They seem set to sell Joe Worrall this summer, though he wouldn't command a massive fee.

My guess is that we can't offload the useless players like Success, so we have to sell the next band up like Wilmot and Zinckernagel.

Wilmot was always going to be surplus to requirements regardless of whoever we bought or sold.

Zinckernagel it will depend on the size of the fee and who else we can bring in for that position. If we can bring in someone like Olise or Yangel Herrera then Zinc would probably be available if a decent offer came in.

Been told by 2 people I've asked today that we have no intention of letting him go. Forest may well be interested - but for our side of things, I think you can firmly place this one under 'not happening'.

I suspect he will be given a chance - and if it doesn't look like he can get to grips with the PL, he will be shipped off to Udinese.

Joe Worrall was linked with Burnley wasn't he? Well they've just signed Collins from Stoke so maybe they won't be in the market for another CB

Zero benefit to us, would command a low fee and he is needed in the squad

Can't see it happening, even if he isn't that good

I thought he played well against us at the Vic. Showed extremely good pace when up against Sarr.

We never really saw his full asset last season - he looked hungry and had a nice turn of pace. Just the one goal (tap in against Bristol City) but his overall contribution was pretty impressive when we did
see him for more than ten minutes each game. I cannot see him leaving, not yet anyway. He is probably going to want to try to impress the "big clubs" first, and if we have a decent first season back in the
Premiership, there is no reason he cannot attract a larger side - if we decide to let him go for whatever reason.

I don't think we should be letting him go unless we are getting someone better on the right as back up for Sarr. But even then he can play in multiple positions. Additionally he is way better than Forest.

Not good enough for the chumpionship, but you people think he will somehow magically be good enough for the premier league?

    Baffling.

Take what we can get and get rid of him, and bring in some mad foreigns who are actually good at football.

Clinging on to this godawful squad will see us relegated.

If we get £2,5m for him we could use the Sancho money to buy Troy's burgers for next season then splash the Zinkernagel money on condiments....happy days!!

Wobby now reporting Forest's interest. We are not against the idea of a loan. Same article says we are probably happy to loan out Baah, but not until Jan.

He'll be an excellent addition for them.

Our squad is just too big to keep everyone.
