I’ve learned from my mistake this morning. I think this would be a decent signing, ergo it’s not happening.
We already have Kiko and Ngakia. They are both going nowhere, hopefully. Such a waste of money for a position we don’t need. Arsenal will want £10-15mil for him. We don’t need to spend that on a position that will do the job in the Prem. If we’re spending that much on a RB, that money would sign Hauge permanently. Increase it by £5-10mil and we sign Danjuma, Cornet etc. Would be terrible business.
I think we'd sign him to play in his natural position of central midfield, or on the right of a three man midfield.
No such thing as fixed or favoured positions - I'm sure we can shoehorn him in to left wing along with all the others.
Don't know who would be the best bet to replace, but even though Kiko had a good season, both he and Ngakia could be improved upon and if Kiko got injured, I would be worried.
Quote from the article: "Watford and Southampton are both set to make moves next week for the 23-year-old who has two years left on his contract." Yeah no doubt we're making plans to possibly table a speculative bid, i.e. it's tabloid b0ll0x. He wasn't very good for WBA last season in central midfield. I'm not sure there's any position in which M-N would make sense for us tbh.
Is that his natural position when he’s played more games as a RB in Prem than any other position? RM is his most played position career wise. Not being sarcastic, but don’t know how it’s his natural position.
He's stated before that he wants to play midfield and it's his preferred position. Just because he was shoehorned at RB doesn't mean it's his best overall position. I like the look of him.
He would be playing for Arsenal at full back / wing back but he wants to play in midfield and is willing to leave them to do so. Not sure he is worth what Arsenal would be wanting for him, but there is a talented player in there. Personally think he is significantly better at wing back but he would still bring something to our midfield.
He was Arsenal's best player in the early games this season and then strangely decided to loan him out. As shown with Emi Martinez, they can't see a good player when it slaps them in the face. I rate Ainsley.
That wasn't meant to be condescending. I hope you understand that. I'm surrounded by Arsenal fans and they all rate him.
I love Kiko but last time we were in the Premier League he was a liability the most significant reason that he was so good last season is because we didn't have to do as much defending. As much as it pains me to say because I like Kiko and think he seems a nice bloke I would welcome an improvement at right back.
Didn’t take it that way at all. Appreciate you sharing it. Was thrown off with the statement of his natural position, when statistics show he’s played in other positions way more than CM.
To be fair it is just down the road most of us will probably have lots of friends, family, work colleagues etc .. that support Arsenal.
Doesn't he want to leave Arsenal because they won't play him in midfield? I doubt we'd be bringing him in as a full back.
I know what you mean. My Emirates season ticket just appeared through my letterbox by magic. I imagine the postie meant it for one of my neighbours.
About 80% of all radio / tv airtime is dedicated to Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool so it is hard to escape. Thankfully you would have to go out of your way to hear anything about the scum as noone gives a **** about them.
Shown on the BBC's column. If it is really cheap, I wouldn't mind this, but if it is taking away striker funds....
He's decent. I doubt he's coming here. Although we can offer the advantage of not having to move house I guess.
