Excellent win. Will take the points over performance everyday.

Good to get that winning feeling circling again after sitting on it for 2 weeks.

Players and Xisco, seem focused on the task at hand and don’t appear to be getting ahead of themselves. Norwich now looking over their shoulder and feeling our pressure.

We just have to stay focused, win our games and keep putting the pressure on them. A win against Boro will really worry them. We would only be 3 points behind them for nearly 36 hours.

Boro’s chances of the playoffs are now very slim. Draws are no good to them now, which will hopefully play into our hands, that they can’t sit back.

Chalobah really stepping into his captaincy is a joy to watch as well. He was rubbish at the start of the season, but has gotten better as time has gone on. He has really stepped up.

All in all a good day for us.

Now hoping a rejuvenated Birmingham can beat Swansea and make Swansea stumble.

Not brilliant today ,but we got the points crucially .

This was always going to be a tough one , just after the international break . Despite that we had the chances to win more comfortably and defended decently . Not much else to say , so we move on . . Hopefully either Brentford or Swansea will slip up and open a nice gap for us .

I think unlike challobah who looked really good before his long term injury, came back ***** and has now turned good again , success other than a few performances (Man Utd ?) has never looked that good so even if he returned to pre injury performance still would t be that exciting

That second half was trash and hard to watch. As people have already said, we were rusty and it just so happened that 3 or 4 of our players had an off day at the same time.
I couldn't work out why Sarr was so poor, never got going and faded completely second half.
It did cross my mind that this one was Munoz fault, he's choosing "easier" games to give game time to Success, but today he made so many mistakes we should have 3 up at halftime, and by then Sarr and Co realised there was no use putting decent balls in to him.?
My only real concern was the lack of effort and punch in that second half, it looked a bit like Ivic had come back for a day.!!!?

Xisco, already a proven career winner after lifting a title elsewhere, has come in and transformed us out of all recognition.

We’ve taken 44 points from his 19 matches in charge.

    14 wins.

We’ve kept 11 clean sheets under him, and only failed to score ourselves on two occasions.

These past few weeks have been among the very best in my five decades of supporting us. It’s been a truly incredible run, almost out of nowhere.

What a great time to be a Watford fan.

And the promise of something even better very soon, as long as we hold our nerve.

I still think it is down to attitude, I think that we don't quite get it together when we are clear favourites to win. It is a problem, but if we continue to scrape wins we'll get away with it. Conversely, I think we'll play better when we need to against better sides and that is why the tough run in doesn't concern me.

All considered, a great win today.

Disagree. - think we have the mentality and experience to see each of these games and the season through now. I read all the comments about TE’s distribution etc but we are pretty much water tight at the back and have so much threat up top (when we push for it). I absolutely believe we will go up now

Now I understand why they call it a Good Friday. We've done the easy bit, now for the hard part. The final 7 games and most of them are a lot harder fixtures, on paper at least. It's not done and dusted by any means, but the run we've been on (and it had to be that good) has put us in a good position.

With Swansea losing, they can only get within 6 points of us on level games and Brentford only 4 on level games. At this stage, any gap over 1 match is a commanding lead. If Brentford fail to win tomorrow, then our gap to them is even bigger.

We've got to now go for the Championship title. It's the only thing left to chase and is easier to put in the minds of the players to chase something rather than defend their 2nd place. It's a subtle mentality change of approach but one that should serve Watford well over the final 7 games.

Today's game, like many, didn't matter how we won, as long as we did. We're getting very good at it now. Can't believe how many 1-0 wins we've had this season. 9 wins tells me we're very good at closing out games. Very unlike Watford, but we're getting the job done.

I still think there will be twist and turns plus the odd banana skin along the way, but hopefully Brentford and Swansea will continue to slip up making it a little easier for us to get over the line.

Technically, we need to win a maximum of 6 games now to be officially promoted. If Brenford fail to win tomorrow, that will go down to 5 wins and 1 draw.

Amazingly if you took the 9 points from our drawn 9 games off our total we would still be 2nd in the table.

Is the suggestion that the EFL penalise us 9 points for picking Success, as it shows we're not taking the competition seriously?
