As well as not starting, I don't see how Deeney can be an effective impact sub these days. An attacking sub is meant to bring some attacking momentum. He will just slow everything down again. With the occasional hoofball making a return too.

Have a feeling he will be fit enough for any match in which we can gain automatic.
And will , John Terry, style enter the fray in the final moments making sure he is on
the pitch if we are in a winning position.

I shouldn't be surprised if he has to have an operation to remove his phone from his hand.
The camera must have panned to him three or four times. On each occasion he was looking at it.
    Is TC that dull?
    Put it down,you're not 16.

Troy Deeney has without a doubt been a great servant for the club we all love and for that I'm sure we are all very grateful, however even the best players eventually begin to decline as the years roll on.

Therefore if you are reading this Troy I hope you realise that your best years are now probably behind you and if you love our club the best way you can serve us right now is to take a backward step and not try to disrupt the togetherness our team currently has by accepting that you are probably not a first eleven player anymore. I still think you have a part to play, but that is from the subs bench as an impact sub if needed or if we have an injury problem.

Thanks for the memories Troy and lets hope you get the chance to come on as an impact sub and score the goal that clinches promotion for us this season as that would be a fitting end to your WFC career.

Well then. Mazzarri I can sympathise with, given he didn't bother learning English, tried to sell Doucoure and then try to sell Deeney while he was still OK but Ivic is only recent and did give his all to adapt, so I really don't agree with that at all.

...but you think it's ok that he jokes he'd glass Mazzarri for the reasons you've given ? Club should fine him and suspend him, until maybe until June.

Not the wisest things to say have to admit.

This sort of thing gets out easily.

Yes, it's just a joke about glassing someone. He could equally have said stab them or maybe just beat them up with a baseball bat. Why can't people take a joke ? You can tell by the way he cracks up laughing at the end that it's clearly a joke.

Current club captain, contracted to Watford FC, supposed to be an ambassador for the club, a role model for kids, and he's "joking" about glassing ex managers with a dead straight face.

You honestly think that's OK and not yet another example of yet more, entirely unprofessional, Troy Deeney idiocy?

Our Club Captain, our talisman, our hero? He is the biggest joke of them all.

Look, he shouldn't be saying these things and I think he's a bit of an idiot, but people seem to have some kind of agenda against him now.

So if, say Chalobah, had said he would glass Gracia, you think all forum members would be fine with it ?

What's the "agenda"? The vast majority of fans used to absolutely adore the man, myself included. Over the past few years his performances and professionalism have both absolutely plummeted, with him consistently showing a lack of respect towards the club and the fans with his blatant use of player power and almost constant idiotic comments and behaviour.

There's no agenda, people are just sick of his constant bullsh*t, combined with his crap performances, and I don't see how anyone could argue that it's not completely fair enough.

From someone who was sent to prison for an assault after drinking? Not clever or funny.

As much as I don't like the Sun, I imagine that if they got wind of this tweet, they wouldn't see the joke and drop him.

  29. NathWFC

    NathWFC First Team

You could very strongly argue that the way you say people have an "agenda" against him - which is all based on his own, blatantly idiotic behaviour and comments, as well as his clear and statistically poor performances on the patch - that others still willingly blind themselves to the way he constantly let's the club and the fans down.

If people are seriously going to defend our club captain saying straight faced that he'd glass two of our ex managers, on the back of the rumours of his abuse of player power and forcing managers out of the club and his sea of stupid comments, then I don't think it's the people who see him for what he is that have the issue.

Unacceptable comments. Just because he has been a club hero doesn't mean he is immune to criticism or above the rules. As cliche as it sounds, Watford is a family club. I'd like to think that we expect our players to behave better than this, even if joking around. Especially a player who already went to jail for a brawl.

Another example where Deeney has proven he's no longer a positive leader, no longer a good personality and no longer someone I think we need at the club anymore. Really hope it ends this summer.

I guess if Andre Gray can get away with nothing more than a fine for putting lives at risk and breaking Government guidelines nothing much will happen apart from an “apology “ and dodgy in house interview.

Our strikers seem to get away with an awful lot !
