Yes. The letter from the NHS HQ to the rest of the Service sounded pretty prescriptive though - it seemed to indicate that no new booking slots should be offered to under 50s in April. So it's a bit surprising but clearly better that stocks get used than are wasted.

Had my first dose of AZ on Sunday, all people working in the education profession in my area were offered it as part of a trial. Lovely army man did the deed, just asked me what hand I was and did opposite.

I have never felt so rough as Sunday night and Monday, I am one of those that never takes tablets but I was throwing paracetamol down by throat as though they were skittles. Cold sweats and fever followed by headaches. Has last couple of tablets Tuesday AM and then that was it, have felt perfect since. Second dose is middle of June as well.

Seems like young people have stronger adverse effects with AZ. Often like a pretty bad hangover that lasts for 1-2 days.

It’s quite ironic that in the majority of cases, the vaccine side effects for the under 35s will be worse than the disease itself.

But what’s one more sacrifice to prop up the boomers once more? Do the right thing millennials, skip your woke, avocado brunches for one week and get the jab.

Had mine Monday, Hangover feeling the next day and shakes and shivers going to bed but I had just played 5aside for the first time in 14 months that evening.

I did have the no taste or smell symptoms of COVID last Easter, but nothing more.

So far behind here in Norway, it's a joke considering the population size of the country. At one point they said they won't be using AZ but we shall see. They reckon I wont be getting a jab until atleast July.

Yeap you are going to have another wave and several months more of lock down and deaths. It's beginning to look scandalous that many European countries haven't vaccinated in large numbers.

My friend who is under 45 had her jab last night - at 10pm in the garden of a local doctor. Apparently the doctor works in Portsmouth and has started bringing spare doses of the vaccine home to give to local people as they would otherwise be thrown away. Last night he had 36 doses - I’m surprised so many people aren’t turning up for their jabs.

Our eldest son is 47 and had his 1st jab last weekend. He lives in Derbyshire. Our youngest son is 45 and lives in Northants and hasn't had his yet, although his ex-wife, who lives about 5 miles away from him and is the same age, had hers yesterday. Looks like it depends on how many 'spare' doses your local surgery has available, so it does look a bit hit & miss.
My wife has just booked her 2nd jab for 11th April, which is only 2 days within the 12-week window, so she's relieved. My 2nd isn't until late May, so it just shows how much impact a couple of years in age can have!

It really is an effin joke. Supposedly it's Sweden buying the vaccine for us to use here because we're not EU. They should be using the piles of cash stacked away to get it over and done with.

Of course the world is a better place. For hundreds of generation's humanity ahs progressed so that each generation lives to a better standard.
Except right now the current younger generations are the first to be poorer than their parents in real terms since the war.

I suppose they have iPhones and flat screen TVs in their bedrooms though so swings and roundabouts.

I was poorer than my parents. Never had a pot to piss in. Admittedly I pissed a lot of it up the wall when I was single . When I got married l also never had a pot to piss in struggling to pay a 7.5% interest rate mortgage. Meanwhile Mater & Pater were enjoying life having already done the hard yards so to speak
However our children are definitely not poorer than I was when I was a lad

I’ve no issue with this but wonder how the NHS keeps accurate records of who has received a jab in these sorts of circumstances?

It's understandable to be concerned but the 12 week limit is somewhat arbitrary, and apparently it is not a specific medical and the jab would more likely be as effected several weeks later. So Dr Hilary says anyway, and Mrs ZZ says that he should be listened to as he is apparently good looking!

Having extended the Pfizer 3 weeks to 12 in the first place is one thing, but to extend it further does cause a few colly-wobbles.

What’s impressive is that the vaccine allows the dead to communicate. That in my mind (and I’m no professional scientist) is a breakthrough.

33 and had my first one yesterday morning, went to bed and was freezing cold, GF woke up in the night and tried to hug me and said I was burning hot. But other than that I've been fine today other than a bit of a sore arm.

I'm mid-50s and had mine 2 weeks ago, had shivers, muscle ache, muzzy head, flu-like symptoms before I went to bed, woke up feeling a bit crap but OK to get up and potter about, and then started to perk up in the afternoon. Felt OK but a little tired the following morning. Sore arm for a few days too but not bad enough that I couldn't lie on it in bed. Other half vaccinated 2 days after me and had similar symptoms over a similar time-span.

Amazingly efficient process. Hats off to all the volunteers, it really is a well-oiled machine. Definitely worth getting it done.

Tbh I suspect most people would rather take the 0.095% risk of getting blood clots to the much higher risk of getting seriously ill with COVID long term or worse.

I kind of made it up tbh from what I could remember on the front of one of the papers but think there are a few more OOs in there.

Think it was more like 0.0000095%?

My main point was really it seems to be much less of a risk for someone than getting COVID and all that comes with that.

Even the sister of one of the people who have died from these clots has said he has no issue with the vaccine and people must have it.

The C19 death risk data are getting 'better' all the time - stats can be applied to different demographic groups. Interestingly I spoke with a stat-brat who maintained the reason why we can't do that with OAZ 'negative outcomes' is that the data set is too small....

Most people are thick. All they understand is there’s a risk of blood clots with this vaccine, not with the others. I therefore fully expect millions to refuse AZ and insist on one of the others. As the continent of Africa has done.

tbf, the government has to an extent encouraged such a reaction by explicitly offering a choice of vaccine to under 30s. I can see plenty of those in the 30-50 bracket agitating for a choice too.

Yes there's a tough balance between telling the public the "full truth" and telling the public "what they need to know to make the best decision for them". Most people don't understand numbers. The "full truth" approach they have followed will without doubt cause sub-optimal behaviour !
