Where Are They Now?

Came across the below ridiculously comprehensive list of former players. Some interesting changes of direction for players - Al Bangura working in a nursing home, Devon White being an electrician, Nathan Lowndes being a copper, Liburd Henry a deputy headteacher and Wilf Rostron importing furniture stand out.

Seems pretty up to date, although sadly Glenn Roeder has passed away since the last update.

    Yes excellent SLB!
I wonder if Dai Thomas could bring some of his scrap to the Kennel for old times sake on April 17?

It's great, isn't it? I'm guessing that some of the people involved in maintaining it are on this site so thanks to them, whoever they are!

I wonder what happened to Ikechi Anya, still only 32 and released by Derby but appears to have completely disappeared since.

Yeah of all our players, I'd say that Dai Thomas would definitely have seemed the most likely to run a scrap yard, didn't he get arrested for hooliganism in Euro 2000?

George Reilly is a builder and lives in Ireland. Must look him up! His goal against Plymouth was one of the standout sporting memories of my youth. Back then the FA cup was a much, much bigger thing. We clung on for a very tense 1-0 win.

Cliff Powell. Possibly the best player I played against as a kid. He was a forward then and all they did was give him the ball. He would carry the ball up the field and just smash it home.

For some reason I am highly amused that Matthew Briggs is at Dartmouth.

Always struck me as thinking he was too good for us when he was here on loan.

Sadly it would appear this list is not accurate.

Richard Lee's billionaire role as CEO of Dr Cap seems to have been overlooked.

Think he moved on from that into a very strange looking business "selling" coffee:

    http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/richard-lee.46917/

I followed a bunch of Watford players on Twitter at the time and got an unsolicited private message from Chris Iwelumo asking if I was over 18 and had any spare cash that I'd like to invest in D1ckie Lee's coffee company!

Edit: that thread I linked to above is notable for the random posting from a guy called okcricketmad that *definitely* wasn't Richard Lee.

Kerry Dixon out of prison, surprised it was assault rather than theft though because he stole a living while he was here, still, wonder where he learnt that behaviour?

Never heard of him before seeing this, was he one of Bassett's many dud signings?

Very poor scoring ratio even in the lower leagues/non-league - seems academia is more his forte than football, but good for him to have experienced both.

What a fine day that was. Sun shining and a trip to Villa Park followed which was also a top day. Helguson and Glass came close, Gayle scored a consolation. I think we showed too much respect to Soton in the match, they weren't a great side.

think he was a defender... I have a vague recollection of seeing him score once in a 7-1 win... might have been Bradford or someone.

In the Dec 1989 rout of Bradford, scorers were Paul Wilkinson 2, Gary Penrice, Lee Richardson, Gary Porter, Barry Ashby and the earlier mentioned Liburd Henry. Jimmy Quinn got one of Bradford's goals. A horrible wet afternoon but a great result in the circumstances. Probably one of Ashby's earliest games for us too. He might be the defender you were thinking of K9.
Charlie Palmer was our reserve right back and, from memory, he played in some of our European games. Kaiserslautern at home I remember as he created the OG that got us 1-0 up I think (?). Wiki says he scored one goal for us but couldn't track down who that was against.

Just found it...Charlie Palmer scored in a 3-1 win over Notts County, a team he later played for. He 'famously' scored a winning goal for County against Nottingham Forest, well famous in the Nottingham area!
