Well it wouldn't be accurate, that was not a lucky result, okay we scored late and the keeper should have done better but we outplayed Cardiff for almost the entire the game, not many sides will go to Cardiff under their new management and outplay them and nullify their attack the way that we did today. Swansea have been getting outplayed week in week out, Blackburn missed plenty of chances last night had two penalty calls turned down and lost to a debateable Brentford Penalty, meanwhile we played one of the most inform teams in the league away from home and they had one shot on target against us and we had 65% possession.
Agreed. Have to give him credit for changing the system and sticking with the change! Will be interesting to see what he does when Deeney is back though, that's the true test!! If he brings him straight back in or changes system to accommodate him then he will have undone all this great work!
Massive win! I’m really starting to believe we could get automatic. Promotion now. Let’s face it , those are the sort of wins you need . I thought we deserved it on balance , despite the lack of clear chances . That will be one of our toughest matches outside the top 6. briliant goal from Chalobah and free kick curse finally broken . There’s just a real feeling of a team there now, which was absent for so long this season . We will probably need to win minimum 7/10 to go up automatically , but I believe it’s possible. cone on u orrrns!
Memorable last minute away goals the Ipswich away result scorer (Clark Carlisle) I think, in Aidys promotion season, also we did it away to Swansea (Richarlison) in our second season in the Prem? Any more?
Glad someone pointed out the Bournemouth result. A beautiful cherry on a great Saturday cake. They are now 5 points adrift of the playoffs. Now I am not going to get ahead of myself but IF we get promoted and IF they fail to reach the playoffs I may go for a world record Twitter block receiving attempt.
A surreal day all round. Watford fans hoping Luton win. Swansea fans hoping Cardiff win. Us getting something on the road when falling behind for the first time since January 2019. And ending with a free kick taken by a guy whose long range shots would usually get 2 points in rugby union....
Imagine the scenes in the away end today. Probably best it was behind closed doors for the sake of the local St John's Ambulance.
This could be up their for funniest post of the season regarding the amount I laughed. I think I put Chab’s goal as goal of the season so far too. I don’t think I can remember a better one for us this season? Anyone got a better offer?
Fantastic win Highpoints: .Chalobah captaincy - he calmed everyone down after OG . Chalobah goal - pure class . Direct goal first in 5 years. Adam Masina take a bow . Coming from behind to win away . That celebration - everyone involved, pure joy. THATS THE TEAM SPIRIT THAT WILL GET US PROMOTED
Bloody hell Masina is frustrating when he has the ball but fair play to him, got his head down and leathered it and got a bit of luck with some ridiculous keeping! Thought we were excellent at times today especially just after half time. Cardiff are dreadful and I would be pretty pissed off if my club had just signed up for another two years of that.
Think you're thinking of Clarke's goal away at Derby under Aidy. Was there that day, was a nice moment and a very similar celebration in front of the dug-out involving every player!
Thought the ref was sh1te again. Sarr got frustrated and nearly boiled over when he got booked but he was fouled for the humptenth time and nothing given right before it. Get Fozzy fit over this break which will add more confidence in the already pretty solid back four. Cleverly and gosling too, adds more options in the middle. Massive 3 points and could be a real look back moment come may. Next 4 fixtures 2 tricky away games but onwards and upwards. Let’s catch the budgies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Its my only regret about this run in , is we cant be there for it. Going to away games when you are on an end of season run is the best thing about football.
Huge win! I promise you that all the Swansea and Brentford players, Staff etc we’re watching our game today. That last minute winner would have them seething. Momentum and mentality shift just swung in our favour. That would have crushed them mentally. Pressure is firmly back on them. Swansea have Bmuff and Cardiff over the next 7 days. Saying it now. Come the international break, we will be 2nd, 6 points clear of 3rd. The team spirit at the end was massive. The players are fighting for each other and the celebrations was everyone together. We have to to keep going. Celebrate but focus on Rotherham. Would love us to go there and put 4/5 past them. Ultimately just want the three points, but hope our GD gets a big boost over the next 2 games.
Adam Massina has won us 6 points in the space of a week and he is the least attacking wing back at the club!
Love some of the small details among the celebrations - Sierralta giving the Cardiff player a bump as he run towards Masina and Sarr celebrating in the face of the Cardiff wall, who has been fouling him all game.
Sierralta at the final whistle pulling Flint’s hair and then immediately running away is pure Ratford Love it. Si Ratas FC the team for me
Nate's goal was a throwback to the way he used to play in 2013. The joy has returned to his game, and huge credit has to go to Xisco for that
Re:Masina goal I was chatting about this with my son and he called it a shot-cross. Which I think sums it up well. spank it really hard on target and hope either a defender or attacker will get a slight touch and it will end up in the net. And if they don’t at least it is on target and the keeper may spill it. Or a 0.1% chance they will just let it in! (I prefer the last!) Compare that to the Wilson free kick in the first half where he just wafted it. even it had been on target Bachman could have headed it clear. I look forward to 2026 when we will see our next direct free kick goal. I hope it as funny and as late in the game.
