A couple of the times he's come on it has been as the most advanced of the midfield three/in the hole/#10, which is basically the same thing as a second striker and is also where he'll probably play again today.
So in January we got rid of 3 CMs in Garner, Capoue and Quina which has left us with 2 CMs in our squad for tonight's game, playing a formation with 3 in the middle. God only knows what happens if Hughes or Cleverley gets injured.
He probably knows more about management just by growing up around his dad than Xisco does by actually being a head coach.
Pozzo leaves us with a wafer thin midfield and then the bloke brought in as cover can’t even play when needed. And Lazar not fit either. What are the chances. Pozzo is truly a simpleton.
I feel largely the same, but Perica has at least shown an ability to score at this level in the few minutes he's had (people may forget his disallowed winner against Brentford). At least he is an option from the bench when Wycombe race to a 5 goal lead.
No Gozzers, no laser beam, but success on the bench. I'd don't know whether to laugh or wanq furiously.
Gray will not score, glad to see some new blood on the bench. Poch Jnr must be exceedingly good to make the first team bench already, or we really are desperately filling spaces.
Surely the problem with Gray, whether you are busy chartering a rocket straight into the sun for him, or if you only think he's the worst pound-for-pound player to wear the shirt in many years, is that the one thing he is theoretically capable of is running into space, and there will be no space behind the defence of the team bottom of the league playing away from home against a promotion contender?
Not ideal at all. Hope Gosling is being rested and that is all. Lazaar surely would be available for a cameo at the very least ? Pochettino rewarded with a place on the bench after some impressive u23 performances. Interesting to see if he does pop up later. We are thin in midfield and upfront. Still cannot fathom letting both Garner and Quina go with the schedule we have. I don't think we will be doing much defending tonight but imperative we keep them penned in. I expect the midfield three to all have a free role alternating as required and picking up and covering the area needed. I would have tried Wilmot in there. Zinckernagel if he has a free role should hunt down the right and swap in and out with Sarr. Some of the team could do with a rest.
I have never been so certain of anything in my life as Isaac Success coming off the bench to score tonight. Bookmark this post.
Indeed we need a target man tonight. Why Perica is on he bench again is another enigma. Surely he is fit enough for an hour ? And how else can he get match fit and sharp. We have several players like this.
He is. What is the order of taking. Cleverley, Hughes and Zinckernagel surely as the takers dependent on position and Hughes and Zinc for corners.
Pretty low. But despite dishing all that vitriol out to him if he scores all the better. We need to win and for him to snap back into some sort of form. It's a bit of a stretch but sorely needed.
Perhaps the reasoning behind playing Gray is that the Wycombe team will be so overcome with mirth when he starts that we'll be able to waltz through their defence at our leisure.
Delighted to see Sir Isaac of Success back in the fold. He played his best football in a Watford shirt as the lone striker back under Javi. Would have him all day long over Gray, Perica or Deeney in that role! Let's hope he stays fit for the remainder of the season as he'll be like a new signing!
If he can stay on his feet better it will be a massive improvement. He was really good vs Spuds in that cup match.
And when they see Success on the bench they'll be laughing so hard that there might even be fatalities. Better get the oxygen ready for them just in case.
