Only having to beat 1 of those 3 makes it a lot easier and it'll b the one with the worst form over the run in.
Sorry for my earlier error in my stats. Last night was our second double of the season. I forgot about Stoke. As most sensible human beings often tend to do! Thanks Teide.
Your reply is absurd. I suggest you watch the game again. We were playing very well until we scored. And individuals can still have good games despite the team or other players in the same team not playing as well. It's a good thing you are not an actual scout or you would be out on your ear in no time at all. Not to mention your supercilious attitude that comes over time and time again in your posts.
Plus I think there was only 1 occasion where we turned an attacking set piece into a possession for our goalkeeper inside 2 passes. Usually this season it's been a regular occurrence.
All true, but why did we insist on floating crosses into the box when the Preston defenders were heading them out every time? We didn't really try hard low crosses that could have been deflected anywhere by a massed defence (as against Bristol City).
It’s the third season in a row where as the long winter drags on, at least we have something to play for come the final Spring months (or summer last year). A cup final. A relegation battle. And now very much involved in the promotion hunt. I still have my doubts we are quite good enough to go up, as I imagine others do too, but it is nice that it could be our third season in a row that goes to the very last match. As opposed to the Zola-Sannino season and our first two back in the PL that kind of fizzled out.
Because that's what TD insists on, he likes this type of service, plays to his strengths. But as with most games he did nothing good with them, he did not win a single header all game.
Im imagining the injury involved him slipping his handlers, a really really big dinner and a Mr Creosote like explosion.
No! It has to absolutely black or white. Players are either goodies or baddies. No one is allowed time to settle or adjust and the first sign of a minor error means they should be binned
I think about 3000 people said the same in their comments. Maybe the final form of the Pozzo model is to get rid of coaches entirely and have the fans crowd source the team and formation
Not convinced about Zinckernagel from what I have seen of him so far. The way their defender just eased him off the ball as he ran towards their box. Seems to be a bit too casual in his play as well. I think it was him who should have buried Hughes cross/shot at the back post but instead he scooped it up giving the defender the chance to clear. Also when we broke at the end of the match, his pass was a bit half-arsed. Maybe it's just a confidence thing and he needs a proper run in the side.
Well I won’t be listening Skys coverage is poor, every time I listen to Kieth Andrews I just want to jump through the screen and head butt him. The premier League get Keane and Micah Richards, we are made to put up with a transvestite and a load of ex players and managers I have never heard of.
Forgot to mention last night the gamesmanship from the Preston players when pedro was putting the ball on the spot ,embarrassing all 3 of them ,how calm was pedro and excellent from clevs to go over and tell them to **** off
Zinckernagel’s not good enough at the moment, too lightweight and defensively inept. Not only did he blow the chance of us getting a second goal he provide Preston with opportunities to put the ball into our box at the death by his dithering. One to be offloaded in my opinion.
The only answer to that imo don't put him on when we need to shut the game out ,hughes clevs and Gosling needed a battler out there not someone smoking a cigar and worrying about his hair did exactly the same against qpr ,come on as an impact sub but made the wrong impact
30 quid on Amazon marketplace for Tubby The Tuba. A bargain. However, wages, food bill, and a new pair of trainers every 5 minutes would probably set you back more than 100 K a week, allegedly.
There was one near the end which Zn-Ni tried to inadvertently thigh in. So more of those type of crosses would definitely be welcome.
Having watched the extended highlights again last night, we were clearly second best and pretty poor in this game against a team with a dreadful home record. They had the better chances and should have beaten us. We showed pretty much nothing in the attacking third.
Couldn't disagree more having watched the whole match. And even their better chances (chance?) came about because of errors by us rather than great play by them.
They had the better chances irrespective of whether they created them or we gave them away, unless you think the extended highlights excluded great chances we had or fabricated chances for them? If you discount the fact that we gave them their best chance, presume you also discount the unnecessary penalty they gave us ? Great result but disappointing performance going fwd.
It depends entirely on what we were second best at. I don't think there's a Preston fan who thinks they were the better side and almost everyone on here thought we were too. Certainly it wasn't a classic performance but Preston had a game-wrecking tactical plan for 55 minutes.
Sure and I guess the 70% or so possession we had make us look "in control" albeit most of it was unproductive hence not seen in the 20 mins extended highlights. My "second best" was second best at creating goalscoring chances irrespective if we "looked the better side".
It wasn't great but we did win. There's going to be plenty of more games like this to deal with but we ground it out and got the win. But we need to look at the bigger picture we were trying to play with more pace our all round game seemed to be faster. Tonight I expect us to be playing a little higher up the pitch controlling the play better. But Derby will be setup not to lose aswell so it could be frustrating again. I'm still very confident that we can get at them early and have the game won by HT.
