If he can run 2 sports teams, adding a third is nothing. No excuses! I won’t let him be lazy.

Ok, so you reach out to Jeff and I will reach out to David. We will let them know that they are up against each other, and it’s first come, first serve.

To be fair, Giampaolo was involved in the initial purchase and set up through the company that initially bought the club but you're right, Gino Pozzo has been in charge since day one and formally so since some kind of restructuring in 2014.

Daddy bought his toy and showed sonny boy how to play with it.

He then left sonny boy to his own devices and ever since sonny boy has steadily lost the plot, so daddy needs to come back and sort things out.

Just a thought - but has anyone considered that an 80yr old man who’s involvement with us so far was having his name on some paperwork, has never worked even part-time for a club in England (be it us or anyone else) and who’s Italian club have sailed close to relegation a lot in the last few years, might just not be the saviour that some believe?

Not to mention the vast majority of Udinese fans fell out of love with the family well before we did.

Amazing that we couldn't/wouldn't cough up the £5m.

We'd likely be well on our way back to the Premier League if we had. Instead we're chugging towards complete failure with Beavis and f**k head up front.

I keep saying it - there's gonna be a focus on Africa in terms of recruitment over the next few years. https://twitter.com/OfficialASRoma/status/1359505002012762115 - Roma have announced today they're setting up an academy in Nigeria. I'm working for an investment group that owns a network of clubs (Portugal + Denmark + another imminent purchase) and they're gonna basically do what I do described above. It's the way forward.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in GPs office, is he concerned with recent events or fans calls for more club communications etc.?
I think his hands are tied tbh and he can't be open with us because he went thru a phase 3 years ago of suntinted glasses syndrome, team doing well and "let's start acting like a big club".
Silva was the start of all the problems really and we just slid from there....
    - Silva the snake,
    - richarlison quickly wanted away,
    - doucoure pining for a big move,
    - let's give TD a massive new contract,
    - let's chase Sarr - he will make us a big profit.!
GP is now charged with turning things around but he will never admit to specific mistakes, and now his main priority for 2021 is keeping the club afloat and he also won't talk finances, so we're wasting our time....

It is somewhat sickening, but Toney wouldn't be scoring half the goals in our team that he is for Brentford. Conversely JP would probably have hatfuls playing for them.

And if our finances are so f***** that we genuinely couldn't afford him without selling first then it was never going to be possible.

At least that I will tell myself to sleep better at night.

I've no doubt in my mind he would have scored 50%+ of the goals he's scored already if he had come to us.

Where I have my doubts about the whole thing is that I bet he'd have been rotated in and out of the team and still been made to be second fiddle to Deeney (if he'd have stayed that is).

But it's convenient isn't it? We sold £50/60m worth of talent over the summer but the story is that we couldn't sign anyone until we got two other players off the books.

Certainly takes away from any idea that we were trying to squeeze Peterboro to the end of the window and a rival nipped in and got it done, doesn't it?

Brentford are built to create chances for their strikers. The strikers get the goals and the headlines and the big money moves, but it's not necessarily that the striker is good (a lot of the players that have scored a huge amount of goals for them often can't replicate that away from Brentford - such as Gray, Maupay, Vibe, Hogan etc), just more that if you serve up 4-5 quality chances a game to a forward then you'll score goals. And that's where a lot of teams fail when they buy from Brentford as they can't match the service that Brentford can give, leaving them with an expensive waste.

There was a story reported in the media (just over three years ago) that the Pozzos were looking to buy Tondela in the Primeira Liga in Portugal. Nothing came of the reported interest so it is difficult to know whether there was any truth in the story.

Sorry for the late reply nascot, I don't come on the forum that often.

Yes the number is staggering because that's the way Gino operates and has done for years. If someone doesnt quite work/fit in we get someone who we hope will be a better option, until we can get players settled.

I think it almost takes a special kind of ‘skill’ to be as bad as the chuckle brothers have been. To only score two goals from open play between them in the minutes they’ve played is almost bordering on impossible. To be playing with the sole intention of putting the ball in the net and to have failed to do so so spectacularly would be pretty hard for any semi competent forward to replicate.

It doesn’t matter if you’re top, middle or bottom of the league, a half decent forward will get goals.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to imagine that Toney, being a semi competent footballer playing for a top six team could’ve got us 10 goals from open play by now.

Considering how many of our games have been decided by one goal I don’t think it’s a stretch to suggest that might have earned as easily another 10 points and we’d be comfortably top.

It’s not like the reverse scenario were you lose a prolific goal scorer and just look at the goals you’ll lose without factoring in who will replace that player and how many they’ll score. Toney would’ve been replacing effectively a couple of traffic cones.

That said I agree with Burnsey’s point above, Troy would’ve still been picked ahead of him anyway so it’s all moot.

Think that's a bit harsh on Maupay...he does score some goals whilst playing for BHA in the Prem, after all.

So far as I can see he's just changed his address with Companies House. Previously the service address was different but now it's the same as the company's registered office. Basically moving the letter box around I think.
