To take my mind off the on-field...entertainment, I'm looking to find the definitive worst Pozzo-era line up, consisted of players signed since they joined. Votes for GK, LB and RB are up so far, feel free to cast your vote or make suggestions, will update the results on this post.

For defenders it must be Craig Dawson, I mean where is he in the league now? Murray on loan must rank as the worst loan signing. You couldn’t see him scoring in the Olympian Sunday league let alone theChampionship.

    Certainly not Orestis.
What we have now is our own version of the Orestia, only difference being I don't have to stand up throughout the full nine hours.

The fabled transfer policy I have never actually seen in action. We just sign multiple rejects, 20 year old punts, footballing oddballs and journeyman. We err toward journeyman more often than not, and every time theres a voice on twitter that says "not very Pozzo-esque signing" but this mysterious scouting network seems to deliver so very little Richarlison gems that you'd be tempted to say it isnt the Pozzo plan to unearth cheap young players at all.
For every Vydra theres 3 Oulares. For every Abdi theres 5 Navarros. For every Ighalo there's 5 years on Jerome Sinclair's contract.

Do we consider what pozzo got from them too. They may of been complete dross in yellow but been relatively good on loan or where they moved on to. Not making Pozzo look completely off the mark.

Just judging on performances in a Watford shirt, I think. Foulquier for example has gone on to have a solid stint at Granada

Yes think the club received a fee for him and never looked like complete mugs too.

I think Navarro is the worst right back I've ever seen in a Watford shirt and that's saying something!

Murray wasn’t the worst striker loan. We had that Korean international striker Park something on loan from Arsenal. A Wenger signing who was going to be brilliant. For Arsenal. Except he wasn’t and they loaned him to the Pozzos. Think he played one half for us and that was it. He was gash.

I’ve also long thought the Pozzo model and idea and attraction to tabled to them by Duxbury and Gian Luca Nani when they bought Watford was to buy and sell as many players as possible, creaming off somehow all the % in fees and agents kickbacks. They’d never lose. That’s been curtailed somewhat by our failings, the tightening of rules, Brexit and COVID strangling clubs finances. Hence the sale of so many of our assets to Udinese where the money movement is clouded.

I think you're a bit harsh on some. It's difficult to get form if you don't get consistent opportunities.

Remember Kenedy playing the last 15 minutes of an abject away defeat at Burnley, looking quite good and then we never saw him again!

Was just about to say. From memory he was half decent, just horrifically managed.

Foulquier and Navarro much worse. And Kiko last season.

Foulquier is a weird one, only ever looked very very limited for us, but has had plenty of success in Spain, what's the deal there? Is La Liga largely **** in comparison with the Prem? Is it that he just fitted in well in teams who are similar to Burnley? Or did we just drag him down?

With the **** players we've had in the Prem, they can at least hide behind the fact that they're up against the elite, Navarro on the other hand constantly looks out of his depth against much lower opposition

A lot of our players have been played in only fits and starts. Looking terrible in a sub appearance or two and then shipped off.

Often initial impressions are correct, but it seems that we have turned over so many players that often they have just been out of sorts or not utilised correctly.

I hold my hands up and admit i will judge a player within 5 minutes, but I'm not in control of 7 figure player budgets or making the best use of these resources.

At the current rate Obbi Oulare is going to miss out on the worst XI to Jerome Sinclair, which would be a travesty.

Oulare cost more, contributed less, and looked like one of those Americans that sometimes pop up on Soccer Aid and can't kick a ball and don't really understand the game.

Steve Leo Beleck had the best highlight video. Flicks, tricks, sublime finishes, wild celebrations in front of 200 fans plus the obligatory Euro trance music. 10 out of 10 video.

Shame he ended up a slightly more rubbish Steve Butler.
