If Bachman hadn’t blotted his copy book against Tranmere I think he would have played more games for us! Hasn’t done anything wrong since Fosters injury!

Flapped at a cross today and got lucky they didn't score from it.

Hasn't really been too challenged so far

I think Bachmann has done alright, Foster is in his Twilight years of football so not a bad showing this far.

I think his handling is good, and show me any keeper that doesn't misjudge the odd cross. For me, he is as good as Foster.

Was probably his dodgiest game since Foster got injured, very unconvincing from set pieces (unlike Foster), but he did well to hold on to some of their shots and not parry them out...whatever problems we have, our goalkeepers are way down the list...

Our back five is fine just a shame about the other 6 players!

We have decent options in abundance at the back and in the wings, but so, so little else

Disagree. Coventry should of buried us today and I have no idea how they didn't. One flap at a cross. Apart from that his handling was excellent. The only one who can be happy with his performance today.

He’s very good at holding average shots, the type of shots that all keepers should easily save but not all will catch them.

Bachmann was competent and did his job today, but lets be honest every shot he saved was straight at him and had he not saved those shots he would have warranted being shot so lets not get carried away with his performance. Furthermore lets not forget he completely flapped at one cross, and had Big Ben done the same a lot of you critics on here would be giving him real stick for it, so where are you all now

Bachman has done well sometimes his distribution has let him down but generally goes unnoticed as it hasn’t cost us. A fit foster gets straight back in the #1 spot.

This was just one game. He has been consistently good with some excellent saves since he's come in, and has made few mistakes . You can't blame him for the shots being near him, he can only save what is kicked or headed at him. Although you could praise his positioning?

Probably not commenting on his performance, because he didn't play? Quite simple, no?

Vincent Vanasch. For three consecutive years FIH 'Keeper of the Year. This afternoon he saved a penalty flick - that unheard of at the elite level.

As you probably well know, I was asking why the critics were not giving Bachmann stick for flapping today, because they sure as hell would have been criticising Ben had he done the same

Bachmann has been fine since he came in. Did he flap today or was that some throw away remark from a pundit who's probably mates with Foster? I don't remember although I might have been thinking about other things to be fair.

Came and missed one cross that was played back in from the edge of the six yard box but fortunately no Coventry player was there to tap it home. Deeney was there and booted it clear. Other than that error fine.

No more than a passing mention, as it has been for Bachmann here - you're probably confusing 'flap' with 'multiple embarrassing mistakes directly leading to us conceding goals'.

His handling really impressed me today. On an awful pitch he had a number of shots that bounced in front of him, which many a dodgy keeper would have let slip and palmed back into open play.

There’s a good few players that can leave, but Bachmann? He’s a keeper.

Bachmann. He's nowhere near good enough though.

Foster's pure shot stopping and command of his box is better than Bachmann's. However, Bachmann's distribution and handling is better Bachmann seems to be more vocal out of his box when trying to direct his back line. Both have a decent level of overlap on both of these (Except for Foster's distribution. That is noticeably worse reagrdless). I'd say they're on a fairly equal footing with Foster when he's in form edging it, but before he was sidelined Foster wasn't in form and was costing us points. Bachmann hasn't cost us points since his run.

How someone could even think of comparing him to Loach or Pidgley is beyond belief. Pantillimon and Arlauskis are more fitting on here. Even Karnezis.

What's beyond belief about it? Chelsea held Lenny in very high regard at one point, unfortunately for him the Abramovich takeover and Petr Cech signing blocked his path there. Loachy too looked great for about 18 months or so, linked with big clubs and a few charity England call ups too.

If anything I'd say Bachmann has less of a reputation than these 2 did.

You notice keepers when they make mistakes or when they make spectacular saves.

If Gomes had made the two rickets Allison did today at home against City he would have been crucified on here.

It is unusual to have a truly terrible keeper. Pidgeley and Loach were young and ok. For me our worst keepers in living memory were Eric Steele (and he wasn’t atrocious) and Perry Digweed.

I would not put Bachmann in the upper quartile, but he seems reasonably competent. In the Championship it’s your offensive players who get you promotion.

Not sure why you say that, as a backup he had done fine, I have a lot more confidence in him than some of the other No2 keepers we have had remember Gilmartin and Arlauskis for a start!

Fine as a back up. That's it. If/when Foster goes I wouldn't have confidence in him being first choice.

I think Foster is better than Baachman because he is quicker off his line but I think Baachman will get better and is the better option for us as we need to be thinking more long term now.

Based on what just out of interest? Baachman impressed me at Kilmarnock and he has been solid for us since coming in he hasn't made any big errors and has kept 4 clean sheet is 6 games.
